Jongup arranged a presentation on May 7 to commemorate the successful launching of his first solo debut album, "Headache."

At the showcase, Jongup stated, "I would share the pressure and fear of presenting and appearing on the various stages with everyone else in the band when I promoted as a member of a group, but now I will have to do all of the promotional activities by myself.

I've got to engage throughout every phase and aspect of the presentation and performance to conquer the burden alone, so I believe I've learned a few things during this album planning.

This is my first official solo debut as a solo artist. Thanks to the supporters who have waited for me.

This is my first move as a Moon Jongup, so please humbly ask all of the fans to keep on sending me your love and undying support so I can proceed on this course."

About his new agency, he said, "Things worked well even with my former company, and I found a wonderful company with whom I can address and negotiate various topics as I planned for my record release."

He added, "This was the first moment that we have been working together, so we've been working really hard on preparing a new song and album that not only the fans but everyone who would listen to it could love it!"

Regarding the current opening track of his album, Jongup revealed, "This is about the headache you're experiencing when you're constantly thinking about someone you're having a crush on. It's a track you can listen to and relate yourself to in peace and comfort."

The K-pop star also mentioned his former group, B.A.P, saying, "B.A.P had such a powerful image, and I did everything in my power to suit that, but my debut album is reasonably close to my real and natural image."

Jongup went on, "I'm working hard enough to prove everyone that I believe I could do very well. When I was making preparations for the album, I did not have enough time to meet up with my former bandmates but the members gave me their undying support and encouragement via SMS and social networks. They provided me the power to do harder work."

TS Entertainment announced on February 17, 2019 that the existing four participants of B.A.P, following Bang Yong Guk's withdrawal in August 2018, and Zelo's change in direction in December 2018, have indeed opted not to extend and renew their contractual agreements with TS Entertainment.

Jongun left the agency in 2019, and it was revealed in November of the same year that he had agreed to sign an exclusive deal as a solo artist with The Groove Agency.

A preview image was published on April 21, 2020, which revealed his first official launch under his new managing agency. "Headache," the single track, was released on May 7.

Jongup also collaborated with various artists in 2017, such as with Dae Hyun's "Party Baby" and "Fly Day" performed by different artists.
