In an interview, Sally revealed she experienced difficulties being a being member of Gugudan. She mentioned how two members were already well-known.

"I debuted after just five months of training in Korea. Upon joining the group, I sensed a big difference between the members. Two of the memebrs were already well-known, so there was a big gap. They already had fans, and so the public put their focus on them."

People believe she is talking about Sejeong and Mina, who competed on the first season of Mnet's Produce 101 and made the final debut line-up. They would end up debuting in I.O.I. After a month of promoting with I.O.I, they then debuted with Gugdan.

Sally went on to reveal that her agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, told her to go back home in 2019.

"In the beginning of 2019, my company told me to go back home. When i asked when I should come back, they said they wouldn't need me to come back."

It turns out it wasn't only Sally who was made to go home - her other members were instructed to do the same. They packed up all their things from their dorm. Though some members tried to resist and convince their company to let them stay, they ultimately had to leave because they were left with no options.

Sally mentioned she was too afraid to go home, because she didn't want her parents to find out and worry about her.

"Even when everybody left and went home, I had no way of returning, so I persisted. I was too scared to go home, because if I did, my parents would learn about what happened. To this day, my parents still don't know about what happened."

Gugudan has not had any activities since Novemeber of 2018 after halting all promotions, and the group is currently on a hiatus. Sally's confession has led fans to believe that Gugudan might have disbanded, though no official announcement has been made.

Sally (real name Liu Xiening), who was born in Guangdong, China in 1996, debuted with Gugudan back in 2016 as the lead dancer, lead rapper, and vocalist. Now, she is competing in Produce Camp 2020 is and is currently ranked at #5 as of episode 5. As one of the popular trainees on the show, she is expected to make the final debut line-up.
