Sally Makes it Into the Final Lineup on Produce Camp 2020 + Gugudan Members Congratulate Her
Sally won 6th place during the finals of Tencent's "Produce Camp 2020," winning her a spot at the 7-member girl group BonBon Girls 303.
Sally (also known as Liu Xiening, her real name), who is originally a member of Gugudan, won 6th place with 93,272,515 votes. She was the first member to be revealed. She thanked her fans, the staff, and Gugudan, saying, "First of all, I'd like to thank the national producers who voted for me, my company, and the staff. Three months have passed by quickly and I have learned a lot here. I want to thank my Gugudan members, I love you."
Sally impressed fans with her presence and skills, showcasing new sides and charms to her with every broadcast and performance. Many praised her doll-like visuals and she was often at the top of the real-time searches on Chinese portals, which just proves her popularity.
Other girls who made the debut line-up are: Zhang Yifan (ranked 7th with 91,588,994 votes), Nene (ranked 5th with 125,278,972 votes), Chen Zhuoxuan (ranked 4th with 145,019,245 votes), Wang Yijin (ranked 3rd with 147,605,682 votes), Zhao Yue (ranked 2nd with 180,117,595), and Curley Gao (ranked 1st with 251,110,993).
Upon news of her win, Gugudan members took to their Instagram to congratulate her!
Member Soyee said, "Congratulations to my friend whom I am so proud of. I love you and I miss you."
Leader Nayoung said, "Liu Xiening is the best! Sally, you've worked so hard. I miss you and I love you!"
Hana shared her love in two Instagram stories! One reads, "Sally landed 6th place on Produce Camp 2020 and will be debuting! Continue to send her lots of love."
The other one reads:
"This is my favorite shot with Liu Xiening ~ Your face is so cute, playful, innocent, etc etc.
Xiening, I will cheer for you in Korea with our members and Danjjaks. Always believe in yourself and have confidence!"
Mimi shared a video of her singing and a link to her YouTube channel. The ending of her caption was used to congratulate Sally, saying, " ... and Sally managed to debut in Produce Camp 2020, congratulations! I'm so excited for her! I will also work harder for Danjjaks! Support Mimi Homepage, Sally, and Gugudan!"
Member Haebin also shared with her Instagram story, saying, "Sally, you've worked hard. Let's be happy. You are worth all the praise."
Maknae Mina also spread some love to Sally, saying, "Xiening-jie, congratulations. You've worked so hard. I wish you the best every day." Jie is short for the Chinese word jiejie, which means older sister and is the Chinese equivalent to the Korean word unnie.
Sally (real name Liu Xiening), was born in Guangdong, China in 1996, and debuted with Gugudan back in 2016 as the lead dancer, lead rapper, and vocalist. Last June, she made headlines after she revealed Jellyfish Entertainment told the girls to pack up their stuff and go home at the beginning of 2019. The girls were allegedly told to vacate their dorms and will be called by the company when they are needed. Though the girls resisted, they eventually were left with no choice.
Gugudan has been on a hiatus since November 2018.
