The iHeartRadio Music Festival is an annual music festival held by iHeartRadio and will be marking its 10th year in holding the event. This year, it will be held from September 18-19 through a non-face-to-face performance. Singers will perform remotely in Los Angeles and Nashville, the US, and fans can appreciate it on streaming platforms. BTS will participate in the pre-recording in Korea.

Meanwhile, ARMYs are criticizing iHeartRadio.following the official announcement of the upcoming music event. Fans are skeptical that the festival will particularly generate more radio spins for BTS's songs.

As per testimonials, fans noted that the septet has attended a number of events hosted by the radio station for the past years, yet they were still not given proper airplay, as ARMYs believe they idols deserve given that their global popularity is massive.

"Don't be naive, iheart won't give BTS any spins after this, all they know is how to use them for clout and make them uncomfortable during interviews. i'll be tuning in for my boys and then i'm closing the livestream with the speed of light," a fan tweets on Twitter.

"iheart radio always headlining BTS to their festivals while still being xenophobic and refusing to give them radio spins...It's time BTS starts paying them dust," another fan tweeted.

"Just checked BTS' US radio play stats after the iHe^rtradio news and... Notice the pattern? All the songs are collabs, with a good chunk in English (radio edits will probably mean even less korean). In the last week ON was played ONCE (Radio Disney). You see the problem here?," claimed one fan who believes that Western songs will be given priority rather than giving BTS a big shot.
