5 Korean Idols Who Are Actually Incredibly Smart
Being a part of the Korean entertainment industry and being known all over the world for their talents in singing/dancing/rapping/composing music or even producing music and choreographies (the list is endless) the academic genius of idols are often unaccounted for. It is no doubt that their profession is making music but that hasn't stopped these idols from getting an education and not only doing so normally but even excelling in their chosen academic fields.
Newer fans may not even know that their idols could even be college professors if they so wanted to. That sure would give fans an impetus to go to college! Here is a list of K-Pop idols that are actually really smart!
1. ERIC NAM
Eric Nam is a K-Pop superstar but some might be surprised to find out that he's also a brilliant academic. A graduate of the Morrissey College of Arts and Science with a degree in international studies and a minor in Asian Studies, he was also a part of the Shaw Leadership Society and UGBC, even founding Kollaboration Boston, in an effort to highlight the visibility of Asian Americans in media. He bagged a job as a Business Analyst at Deloitte Consulting, one of the biggest companies in the world but chose to go for microfinance initiatives in India. When he finally decided to go for music, he participated in Birth Of A Great Star and that's where his K-Pop journey began.
2. EPIK HIGH TABLO
Leader, rapper, producer Tablo has been named time and time again as one of the most intelligent artists in the industry. Besides having an IQ of 160, which basically means he's a certified genius, he also graduated with a Masters degree in English from Standford University - one of the most prestigious universities in the world with an acceptance rate of 4.7%. Perhaps this does not come as such a shock as fans have always intercepted his intelligence in the music that he makes!
3. TVXQ CHANGMIN
Changmin has an IQ of over 155 and has been ranked by Arirang International as the most intelligent K-Pop star. He has a total of 4 degrees from three of the most distinguished universities. He has a degree in postmodern music from Kyung Hee University, a Film and Arts degree from Konkuk University as well as a Masters and Ph.D from Inha University. All this while actively pursuing one of the hardest careers ever - you've got to be a genius to juggle all of that together and incredibly successfully too!
4. GIRL'S DAY SOJIN
Girl's Day's lead vocal Sojin had such impeccably perfect grades all throughout her school life, she even had set up dreams of becoming a doctor. Later, she was one of 8 girls in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Yeungnam University. Reports say that she had gotten into the even more prestigious Hanyang University but decided not to attend because of the tuition costs. There's no doubt that she was extremely popular among the boys in her class, as she herself has admitted to the same.
5. EXO XIUMIN
EXO's hyung Xiumin is not only an incredible musician, he also majored in music for his Masters at the Catholic Kwandong University. His Professors were all praises for him, expressing their appreciation for the fact that he never missed assignments and attended as many classes as he could, which was most of them. He's even enrolled in a Ph.D program at Hoseo University. A doctorate and a world famous superstar? Only Xiumin could do that!
