Prada Announces Red Velvet Irene and EXO Chanyeol As Their New Brand Ambassadors
Prada has announced that Red Velvet's Irene and EXO's Chanyeol, both from SM Entertainment, are their new brand ambassadors. Alongside the reveal, they unveiled a sensuous fashion film and shots from a photoshoot of them dressed in the Prada 2020 F/W Collection, which can be found in Vogue Korea.
In the pictorial, Irene was seen rocking pieces from the brand's Autumn/Winter 2020 Women's Collection. Centered around the concept "Surreal Glamour," they dressed Irene in fresh outfits that highlight women's toughness and intrinsic charm. The collection represents a women's strength and the authority behind a feminine identity. Through her clothing, she was able to express various and complex sides of being a woman.
Fans had suspected that Irene would become Prada's new brand ambassador for a while now. Back in December 2019, she was invited and had attended the Prada Dreamscape pop-up store in Seoul. She was also seen posting photos of herself wearing Prada on her Instagram and tagging the brand, which South Korean celebrities usually do when promoting a brand. Fellow Red Velvet member Joy is often seen doing the same for Dior.
In March 2019, Irene made her Paris Fashion Week debut, attending a show for Miu Miu, a subsidiary label under Prada. Alongside this, she starred in the brand's "Girl in Miu Miu" campaign.
Chanyeol, on the other hand, was dress in Prada's Autumn/Winter Men's Collection, showing off a "classic, futuristic, modern, heroic masculinity" concept with his clothing pieces. The brand's Men's Collection is innovated and futuristic, blending traditional fabrics with new recycles materials to create colorful and graphic prints, as well as classic designs on apparel such as jackets, coats, and shirts. In his photoshoot, Chanyeol shows off a classical fantasy as he embraces his masculinity.
Like Irene, Chanyeol was also invited to and was present at the Prada Dreamscape pop-up store opening in Seoul. In April that same year, Chanyeol flew out to Singapore to celebrate the launch of the brand's Spring/Summer 2019 Menswear Collection.
This is not Chanyeol's first time working with a designer brand. Previously, Chanyeol had starred in campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger. He had worked with the brand from 2017 to 2019.
As of now, it is unconfirmed if Irene and Chanyeol will be promoting Prada as brand ambassadors internationally as well as domestically. What we can expect, however, are more pictorials and campaigns from Prada featuring the two idols. Are you excited?

Irene is a South Korean singer and actress. She is a member and leader of the girl group Red Velvet, under SM Entertainment, and debuted with the group in 2014. Prior to debuting with the group, she was part of the company's trainee team, SM Rookies. In 2015, she made her acting debut in the web drama "Women at a Game Company." In 2020, she debuted in the first Red Velvet sub-unit alongside Seulgi with the song "Monster".

Chanyeol is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and model. He first made his debut in 2012 as a member of the group EXO. In 2015, he made his big-screen debut in the film "Salut d'Amour". Since then, he has acted in numerous films and dramas, both in South Korea and in China. In 2019, Chanyeol debuted in the EXO sub-unit EXO-SC alongside member Sehun.
