Bang Si Hyuk Revealed to Have Cried After Hearing BTS Hit No. 1 on Billboard 100 for Two Straight Weeks
In a "BANGTAN BOMB" shared with the BANGTANTV YouTube channel on October 5, Monday, fans were able to see BTS call the CEO and founder of Big Hit Entertainment, Bang Si Hyuk, about their song "Dynamite" peaking at number one on the Billboard 100 Chart. Upon hearing the news, Bang Si Hyuk couldn't help but shed tears.
The boys received the news about their song peaking at number one for two weeks in a row during filming. While members RM and V remained calm, Jimin and J-Hope could be seen freaking out in joy.
They immediately decided to call their CEO, Bang Si Hyuk, to inform him about their monumental achievement. V was seen holding the phone and, though calm at first, loudly proclaimed, "Hyuk-hyung! We got first place!" to which Bang Si Hyuk replied just as excitedly, "Yes, you guys won first place!"
As the boys teased Bang Si Hyuk for liking this a little too much, he can be heard speaking excitedly on the phone. However, what he said cannot be deciphered. As they heard Bang Si Hyuk continue to talk, the members can be heard saying, "I think he is crying!"
The boys joked that they already cried a lot last week when they hit first place for the first time. Jin jokingly tells Bang Si Hyuk, "Send us a selfie of you crying!" V, on the other hand, tells Bang Si Hyuk that if he continues, he will start crying too.
The boys then go on to say that they really did cry a lot last week, with Jimin even saying, "We cried a river." They then informed the viewers and Bang Si Hyuk that they were all in tears when they first found out last week about their song peaking at number one, calling each other up while crying.
Bang Si Hyuk can then be heard saying, "You guys don't know how amazing this is!" and the BTS members replied that they know that this is a big deal.
"That's the kind of group you are, this just defies belief!" Bang Si Hyuk exclaims. The boys laughed over how excited their CEO is, and revealed they were just the same when the news first came out the week prior. "This is historic," Jimin says. "The president crying for us. Wait, not even president. The chairman!"
As Bang Si Hyuk continued shedding tears, the members tell him that they have worked hard and that he is doing an amazing job. RM tells Bang Si Hyuk that their success is all thanks to him. To that, Bang Si Hyuk congratulates the boys for their achievement and says, "Let us make this a legendary legend!"
As they continue to thanks their hyung, they ask to have dinner with him that same night. Jimin then tells Bang Si Hyuk that when the situation gets better, they should go out for a drink. The calls end with both Bang Si Hyuk and BTS saying they love each other.
At the end of the call, RM is seen saying that the boys themselves still can't believe they were able to achieve something this big and that it would not be possible without the help of the people around them. He expresses his thanks to them and promises that they won't forget all that they have gone through.
While in the end, it claims that Bang Si Hyuk did not cry, the members' reactions and his voice during the call say otherwise!
