WATCH: EXO Lay Expresses His Love and Support to Co-Members in His Exclusive Interview with MYX Philippines
On Wednesday, the K-pop and Mando-pop star Lay had an exclusive interview with the most popular music TV channel in the Philippines, MYX!
In the official Twitter account of the music channel, MYX announced that the EXO member and soloist will join them on his first-ever and only interview on the said country via #Myxclusive interview that premiered at 8:00 p.m. KST on its official YouTube account with the same name, MYX PHILIPPINES.
Samm Alvero, a VJ-vlogger was given the opportunity to interview the singer and music producer, via audio interview and as soon as the premiere video started, Samm introduced their special guest as an international singer, rapper, songwriter, record producer, actor, etc, and it is no other than Zhang Yixing!
In the interview, the idol conveyed that he's currently busy as of the moment as he's filming several things hinting that one of them would be a drama-which fans should look forward to.
As Vj Samm congratulated him for doing great on MYX Charts, he shared how he appreciated it a lot and said, "Thank you to my Philippine fans, I feel great and happy. I can't believe how great my Ph fans are."
In June and July, Lay released his two-part album, respectively, along with the title track MV, "LIT," which topped various domestic and international music charts. When asked about his inspiration for the album, he shared that it was a work of art to allow more people, particularly fans, to know more about Chinese culture that showcased mixed mando-pop wherein traditional instruments were combined with modern sounds.
"I think it would be easier for people to connect and get a feeling of what China is all about," he said.
In terms of his cinematic music video that gained a lot of praise, he highlighted the point of the importance of showing the palaces, dragon, and the song also holds a significant message which is "about growth and chasing your goals despite people criticizing or doesn't believe in you."
Moving on, VJ Samm also talked to Lay about his collaboration with Steve Aoki and will.i.am for "Love You More" and he revealed that he and Steve thought it would be cool to make a song after performing in Shanghai; thus, they worked on it and Will joined them as well.
In addition, Lay shared that he wants to work with Timbaland in the future.
Meanwhile, as a K-pop idol and member of top idol group EXO, Lay expressed how supportive and great his love for his co-members was when VJ Samm asked him, "How proud of you of their achievements (EXO members)?"
Lay answered, "I'm always proud of my bros, I think I really love my brothers so to see their success is amazing and I am always here, I'm always there for them. I'm ready to support them no matter what I am doing."
He added, "Yesterday, I was texting with Sehun and asked me where my car is," also revealing that he talks often with his co-members.
He conveyed how they miss one another and can't wait to meet, but due to the pandemic, reunion is impossible yet.
As they concluded the interview, Lay ended with a message to his fans, particularly to his Filipino EXO-Ls (Phixo) and Filo Xingmis, saying, "I really want to go to the Philippines to meet my fans, thank you for supporting me."
He also promised to do his best, practice and work and said, "I don't want to disappoint you guys. "
