On Saturday, the global K-pop group participated in the recent episode of JTBC's "Knowing Brothers" again after three years, capturing the interests of K-pop fans and viewers. On the same show, member Jennie shared the story behind her real name that surprises everyone!

As for the news fans of the popular group, particularly BLINKs, some may mistake Jennie as a stage name or English name of the BLACKPINK's main rapper, given that she grew up in New Zealand. Even non-fan can be confused with it, but it is actually her Korean name!

The revelation happened right when she submitted her student's application form to the variety show, which is known for its school-setting concept.

To be able to transfer, the hosts or playing as new classmates screened the transferees, and Jennie then confessed, "Everybody thinks that it is not my real name, but it is an actual Korean name," Jenny said.

In particular, her name also has an exciting story behind it, as the female idol revealed on the show. According to Kim Je Ni (when written in Hangul), her name contains her mother's love for the Korean icon Lee Jung Jae. Actor Lee is notable for his works including, "Sandglass," "The Handmaid," and "The Thieves."

The idol said, "Actually, my mother is a fan of Lee Jung Jae." Her name was then revealed to be inspired by Jaehee, the actor's character name on his breakthrough drama, "Sandglass."

Initially, Jennie's mother decided to name her child as Jaehee if she will give birth to a son, but it turns out to be a daughter. However, the idol's mother is truly a huge fan of the actor that instead of changing it, they named her as Jennie, which sounds like Jaehee.

Seems like the name has a majestic charm on it, like Jennie, with her hard work and passion for music is now one of the biggest K-pop idols and members of the K-pop Titan group, "BLACKPINK."

Due to this, she was able to meet the actor and told him about the behind-story of her real name.

"He was surprised and happy that my mother is a fan," Jennie said.
