On October 19, the Korean girl group's agency MLD Entertainment announced that the singer and producer PSY will take part as a lyricist MOMOLAND's new song, which will be out in November. The upcoming track is said to be purposely planned for the fourth debut anniversary of MOMOLAND that will take place on November 10.
PSY shared that after he heard the song's demo, he gladly accepted the collaboration in which he will partake in writing the lyrics. Also, the songwriter commented that MOMOLAND is a group that is excellent in delivering exciting music in a more invigorating way. And because of that aspect, PSY sees the girls as juniors who are compatible with his taste in music.
In addition to this, a representative from MLD Entertainment stated that thanks to PSY's participation in the lyric-writing process, MOMOLAND's new track has turned into a more unique and improved piece. He also said that he expects the song to become a worldwide hit like the previous songs, "Bboom Bboom" and "BAAM."
MOMOLAND is scheduled to return with a new album in mid-November, which will be the group's second comeback this year following the special album entitled "Starry Night" that was released on June 11. The group took part in writing the lyrics of "Starry Night" along with Bull$EyE, Ondine, real-fantasy, and Kim Do Da Ri. The track is about wanting to express one's feelings on a starry night.

Meanwhile, PSY also participated in writing the lyrics of the song "NUNU NANA" for Jessi, who also co-wrote the track. He is even the one who writes his own songs, including his hit singles "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman." Apart from being a songwriter, he is also a singer, rapper, and record producer, as well as a CEO of his own company called P Nation, which he established in early 2019 after he left his long-time agency YG Entertainment last May 15, 2018. At P-Nation, PSY manages Jessi, Hyuna, Dawn, and the latest artist Heize.
MOMOLAND was initially composed of seven members who were chosen in Mnet's survival show titled "Finding Momoland," which started in June 2016. The group made its debut in November of the same year with an extended play called "Welcome to Momoland". On March 28, 2017, Taeha and Daisy were added to the group. MOMOLAND released several singles and EP's as a nine-member group until 2018, including their hit singles "Bboom Bboom" and "BAAM."
Thanks to "Bboom Bboom," MOMOLAND became the first girl group and second performer to achieve a Platinum certification from Gaon Music Chart. The group even earned the "Best Dance Performance" award for the track.
At present, MOMOLAND consists of six members, namely Ahin, Jane, JooE, Hyebin, Nancy, and Nayun. Former members Taeha and Yeonwoo left the group and MLD Entertainment in November 2019, while Daisy was only on May 13 this year. The "Starry Night" is the first album during which MOMOLAND only comprises 6 members, and their new music in November marks their second album as a sextet.
