Several K-Pop Groups Submit Nominations for The 2021 Grammy Awards

Nominees for the 63rd Grammy Awards will be revealed in November, next month. With that, numerous K-pop groups have submitted Grammy nominations with the hopes of being one of the official nominees. Want to know who could possibly be nominated and for what categories? Keep on reading!

As reported previously, BTS has submitted seven Grammy nominations. Their best-selling album, "Map of the Soul: 7" has been submitted for nominations for "Album of the Year", "Best Pop Vocal Album", and "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical".

Their all-English, number-one hit single "Dynamite" was submitted for "Record of the Year", "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance", "Best Music Video", and "Song of the Year".

"Map of the Soul: 7" hit number one in over 20 countries, including Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom, three of the world's biggest music markets. The album had debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and is South Korea's best-selling album in history. "Dynamite", on the other hand, debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making it BTS's first number-one single and the first time a South Korean act has topped said charts.

BLACKPINK has submitted a nomination for "Best New Artist". Additionally, their song "Ice Cream" with Selena Gomez, was submitted for nominations under "Record of the Year", "Song of the Year", and "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance".

"Ice Cream" peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it BLACKPINK's first single to peak within the top 20 of the chart. The song hit the top 10 in Singapore and Hungary, the top 20 in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, and the top 40 in Ireland, Lithuania, and the United Kingdom. It peaked at number eight in South Korea.

SuperM also submitted a nomination for "Best New Artist". Their debut song, "Jopping", has been submitted nominations for "Best Music Video", "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance", "Record of the Year", and "Song of the Year".

Their extended play "Super M - The 1st Mini Album" has been submitted nominations for "Album of the Year", "Best Pop Vocal Album", and "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical".

"Jopping" peaked at number one in the Billboard World Digital Songs charts and at 25 in the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 charts. It was added to numerous magazine's "Best K-pop songs of 2019" lists, such as Billboard, Dazed, and South China Morning Post.

"SuperM - The 1st Mini Album" debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart, making them the first Korean act to top the chart with their debut release. It also peaked at number one on the Billboard US World Albums chart.

MONSTA X submitted nominations for their song "Someone's Someone" under the categories "Best Music Video", "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance", "Record of the Year", and "Song of the Year".

They also submitted nominations for their sixth studio album "All About Luv". They submitted nominations under the categories "Best Pop Vocal Album" and "Album of the Year".

Their "LOVE U" album with French Montana has also submitted a nomination for "Producer of the Year, Non-Classical".

"All About Luv" debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 charts, making it MONSTA X's first time on the Billboard 200, and the highest entry by a K-pop act after BTS and SuperM. It peaked at number three on the US Top Album Sales Chart. Billboard named it as one of the 50 best albums of 2020.
