BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ MV Surpasses 600 Million Views!
Global K-pop group BLACKPINK broke another record on YouTube!
On Thursday, YG Entertainment, the agency of the famous girl group, announced that the "How You Like That" music video surpassed 600 Million views at 1 AM KST of the same day.
"How You Like That," which is a pre-release song of BLACKPINK was dropped prior to their first full-length album "THE ALBUM," on June 26, and it only took approximately 117 days to reach the views.
The song broke the existing record of their recent song "KILL THIS LOVE" which achieved the same view counts 177 days after its release. "How You Like That" is all rapidly setting the record of their song "Kill This Love."
"How You Like that" music video gained 100 million views in 32 hours on YouTube, and 200 million views in seven days while it reached 300 million views in less than a month (21 days), 400 Million in 43 days, and 500 Million views in just 73 days.
In four months, BLACKPINK's first song since a long hiatus indeed captured the interests of K-pop enthusiasts, and it is proven with their music videos view counts.
In particular, the song marks the start of their return to the music scene again after a year of inactiveness. "How You Like That" delivers the message of 'flying high regardless of any circumstances,' and it eventually gained massive support from global music fans.
Also, this song won the ''Song of The Summer'' at the 2020 U.S. MTV Video Music Awards, and ranked #1 in the ''Global Top Summer Song'' selected by YouTube.
BLACKPINK has a total of 22 videos with millions of views. Among them, the music video for "Ddu-du-du-du" reached 1.3 billion views, and the music videos for "Kill This Love" and "Boombayah" exceeded 1 billion views. BLACKPINK is the only K-Pop artist who has 3 music videos with over 1 billion views.
The song also struck the mainstream pop market as it recorded numerous achievements in the leading charts internationally, including the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and UK Official singles top 100 where it secured a spot at no. 33 and no. 20 in its first week.The quartet reigned over 64 countries in iTunes and sat at the #2 spot for Spotify Global Top 50 Charts as well.
BLACKPINK recently released their first full album "THE ALBUM" in 4 years after their debut and swept various global charts. "THE ALBUM" took first place on the iTunes album charts in 57 countries including the United States immediately after the release of the sound source.
