Fans Debunk Photographs Allegedly Photoshopped By Chanyeol’s 'Ex-Girlfriend'
On October 28, 2020, when an anonymous letter appeared on the online forums in South Korea where a woman claimed to be EXO's Chanyeol's former girlfriend, exposing him for cheating on her with over 10 other women, including other girl group members, her own acquaintances as well as flight attendants, it took over all of the Internet at once. Fans didn't know what to believe.
The letter read as follows:
"I don't know if I'm allowed to post photos, so I took the photos down, but I can reupload it if anyone needs proof.
Hi Chan__. I don't know if you read this online community or not. I've decided to write something like this, which I never did, to expose you. You must be surprised to see something written from me when you thought we had broken up. Well, I feel dirty and disgusting, thinking about the three years you have tricked me. Chan__ this is the karma you brought onto yourself.
We started dating when you asked one of my acquaintances for my number. We began officially dating when you asked me out.
Then I found out the shocking truth since the three years we've been dating.
I tried not to believe in anything unless I see with my own eyes and hear with my own years. I even believed you when you denied everything.
But you were somebody else's first experience as you had one night stands with other people. I was so ignorant as you slept with new women while I was asleep.
You were so busy living a dirty life. There were so many various types of women like girl group members, YouTube streamers, flight attendants, and more. Did you enjoy yourself?

The woman also added photos of what looked like the couple with the woman's figure blacked out.
However, fans were quick to point out that the authenticity of the photos was up for questioning.
One Korean Netizen pointed out that Chanyeol's figure in the photos seems to have a white outline around it which likely means that he was photoshopped into those photos. The woman also stated that the alleged ex-girlfriend claimed to have dated Chanyeol from 2017, but he did not have the tattoo 'L-1485' on his arm at that time.
Another argument presented was that first photo provided by the alleged ex-girlfriend seemed too awkward. The Korean Netizen claimed that it was very rare for a couple to celebrate a 790-day anniversary and no one really did that. Besides, the flower that Chanyeol is holding is too similar to the bouquet he gave to another EXO member. Another Netizen said that Chanyeol was not holding his girlfriend's neck but was rather holding a guitar in one of the photos.
Fans are really digging deep to figure out the truth about this situation. However, SM has announced that they have no stand in this case and Baekhyun recently posted a tweet, subtly referring to the fact that he has no acquaintance that is a mutual friend with Chanyeol's supposed ex-girlfriend, alluding to another post made by Chanyeol's self-proclaimed ex girlfriend's friend who also revealed that the allegations against Chanyeol were all true and that Baekhyun didn't even like him.
While it is hard to judge whose side is speaking the truth, fans hope that Chanyeol will eventually address the issue and reveal the truth - apologize if he's in the wrong or sues if he's in the right.
