Korean Fans Post Petition Asking Chanyeol to Withdraw From EXO Following Controversy
Korean fans are asking Park Chanyeol to leave EXO following his dating/cheating controversy.
On October 29, Chanyeol became the most searched term on the Korean portal Naver after her alleged ex-girlfriend uploaded photos on several online communities, together with a long message unveiling that she and the idol dated for almost three years until she found out that he cheated on her by having an affair with more than 10 women, including K-Pop girl group members, a flight attendant, a DJ, a YouTuber, a dancer, and more.
In response to the allegations, SM Entertainment released a statement saying that they have 'no official position' on EXO Chanyeol. Meanwhile, EXO-Ls began to investigate the matter, examining the so-called proofs of the alleged ex-girlfriend. And after doing some speculations, some fans believe that the pictures are photoshopped.
While international EXO-Ls continue to send support and love despite in light of a post made by the presumed ex-girlfriend, a Korean online community posted a petition asking for EXO Chanyeol's withdrawal from the K-Pop boy group.
The EXO Gallery on the Korean internet forum DC Inside has unveiled their opinion about the recent controversy - they want the rapper to leave EXO. The post that Korean fans created is titled 'Statement urging the withdrawal of Chanyeol.' It is stated that SM Entertainment's 'no official position' stand about the matter means that the company has displayed mismanagement and failed to protect its artists.
The fans said, "We want to send a celebrity back to his normal life after a long journey together. Since the issue of Chanyeol's personal life was lifted, SM Entertainment has made a ridiculous stance saying that they have 'no official position.'"
In addition to that, EXO Chanyeol is not issuing any official statement about the allegations. Hence Korean fans agreed to make a petition to eliminate him from the boy group. The members of the EXO Gallery on the online community also said that they would never put up with such behavior as it is immoral, and it had caused great damage to a specific person.
Korean fans stated, "We strongly urge SM Entertainment to exclude him from EXO as soon as possible."
In other news, an alleged companion of EXO's Chanyeol with the Instagram username 'iamkimboram' spoke up about the controversy on October 30. The person shared that the male artist once said that no matter who and what he is, people who like him would still like him. She then criticized him for lacking good manners toward the people who care for him. After some time, the account was set to private, and it eventually deactivated after fans flocked to her page.
The netizen also mentioned EXO Baekhyun, saying that she was introduced to Chanyeol by him. On that same day, Baekhyun took to his personal Twitter account and subtly responded to the post. Baekhyun tweeted, "Ah...my acquaintance, who? (Oh, it's a mosquito. *huff*) You brat ~~ Ah shake."
