VIXX N Leaves Jellyfish Entertainment After Eight Years With The Company
On November 3, Tuesday, it was confirmed that VIXX member N has departed from his company of eight years, Jellyfish Entertainment. Keep on reading to read the company's statement and more.
On November 3, Jellyfish Entertainment released a statement confirming N's departure from the company but reassured fans that he will be continuing as a member of VIXX. Read their whole statement here:
"Hello. This is Jellyfish Entertainment.
To start, we would like to sincerely thank all the fans who have shown love and support to our company's artist, VIXX.
On October 31, Jellyfish Entertainment's exclusive contract with VIXX member N has expired. After a long period of serious discussions between N and the company, both sides have come to the conclusion that the contract will not be renewed. However, as he has been a VIXX member for eight years, he will continue to work as a member of the group for music promotions.
We would like to sincerely thank N for the mutual trust that has built between him and the company over the long period of time we have worked together. Jellyfish Entertainment will sincerely cheer N on with his future activities.
We sincerely ask that you look forward to his future endeavors with much anticipation and support as he embarks on a new chapter of his career."
According to reports from Sports Donga, N has signed on with 51K. 51K is home to numerous big-name actors, including 2PM's Taecyeon, So Ji Sub, and Lee Seung Woo. He is reported to have chosen an actor agency to propel his career as an actor. He is said to be taking a similar path to Taecyeon, who too transitioned from being an idol to an actor. In fact, it has been reported that Taecyeon's path is one of the factors that caused N to choose 51K as his new home.
N is the second member to leave the company. Ravi was the first to do so, leaving Jellyfish Entertainment in 2019 to form his own agency, GROOVL1N. Just like N, Ravi is still a member of VIXX and will participate in VIXX's future musical endeavors. In August 2020, Hongbin withdrew from VIXX.
N is a South Korean singer, actor, presenter, and radio host. In 2012, he debuted as a member of VIXX under Jellyfish Entertainment. He was chosen to be part of the group after competing on the survival show 'MyDOL'.
In 2014, N made his acting debut with a support role in MBC's romantic-melodrama 'Hotel King.' He has since acted in the drama 'The Family is Coming' (2015), 'Cheer Up!', the web drama 'Tomorrow Boy', 'What's Up With These Kids?', and the musical 'In The Heights'. N has participated in the OSTs for majority of his dramas, proving his ability as both a singer and an actor.
He kickstarted his radio host career in May 2015 with his show 'VIXX N K-pop' on SBS PowerFM. He also worked as a fixe guest on 'Super Junior Kiss the Radio'.
VIXX's N has his own YouTube channel where he shares clips of him dancing, touring, and more. He opened the channel a few months before his mandatory military enlistment. In March 2019, he enlisted for the military.
