"I was scrolling through my photo gallery and looked over my pictures as I tried to push away the depression emotions I felt after hearing about the sudden tragic death. I realized that I had met many people, and I feel thankful to everyone I have met so far. I also thought about the reasons to live for another day. But I realized I want to live in a brighter world. I should be the first to do my best and put in the effort, and I hope everyone in the world is filled with love."

While it appears she has good intentions, Korean netizens are saying her story is both insensitive and weird. Many people thought it was insensitive for her to talk about herself while mentioning someone passing away. Many said including a photo of herself smiling and laughing rubbed them the wrong away.

"I'll tell you why this Instagram post is weird. Imagine, your friend killed themselves, and while you are mourning her and are saddened by the situation, a hoobae who isn't even close to your friend posted a photo of her laughing on her Instagram saying, 'I should live my life diligently, I hope the world becomes more beautiful.'"

"I mean, I understand what she was trying to say... But did she really have to post it with that photo of her smiling?"

"Is she actually mentioning that she is contemplating and self-reflecting on her own life after such a tragedy? I think she must be either stupid or she has no common sense. Like, really, with a photo of her smiling? Is she stupid?"

"Yeri seems a little immature."

"Red Velvet is being ruined by their own members. Is it normal to post a picture of yourself laughing like after someone passes away?"

On Nov. 3, 2020, comedienne Park Ji Sun and her mother were found dead at their home. The two passed away in their Mapo-gu home. The two were found after Park Ji Sun's father could not contact them, prompting him to contact authorities to check on them.
