2020 APAN Music Awards Announces All Nominees For This Year

The 2020 APAN Music Awards has announced the official list of nominees for the ceremony. Names of 30 artists were released who are chosen to be nominated for the top 10 positions. The nominees were chosen through a combination of album sales, digital sales, evaluation through a panel of judges, and fan voting.

A representative from the organizing committee said, "We are preparing to hold the 2020 APAN Music Awards, which will gather the top K-pop artists who lit up the music industry this year, in a different format from other music awards shows. In addition to showcasing performances by A-list K-pop artists for K-pop fans all over the world, we also plan to make new and daring attempts to stage extravagant and flamboyant performances using special effects such as AR [augmented reality]. We are preparing a ceremony that will convey a message of hope and comfort to the fans all over the world who are going through difficult times because of COVID-19."

The 2020 APAN Music Awards will take place on November 28, 2020 KST, while the 2020 APAN Star Awards will be held the following night on November 29, 2020.

'APAN MUSIC AWARDS,' a music awards ceremony newly established by 'APAN STAR AWARDS,' which boasts history and authority, boasts a unique meaning in that it is an awards ceremony presented to ten singers selected by management who discovers and nurtures artists. It is an awards ceremony where management and artists can become one and enjoy, and it is a place to encourage and celebrate K-pop artists who are the protagonists of the Korean Wave. Expectations are rising as it is known as an awards ceremony that advances with a differentiated freshness, unlike the existing music awards ceremony.

The APAN Star Awards is an awards ceremony for excellence in television in South Korea, organized by the Korea Entertainment Management Association (CEMA). It is held annually since 2012 as part of the Daejeon Drama Festival. The inaugural ceremony K-Drama Star Awards was renamed to APAN Star Awards in 2013; APAN stands for the Asia Pacific Actors Network.

Nominees for the awards are chosen from Korean dramas that aired on the three major broadcasting networks (KBS, MBC, and SBS) and cable channels from October of the previous year to September of the current year.
