Insider Asserts 3 More Members Will Join SM's New Girl Group aespa
SM's new girl group aespa is said to not only consist of four members.
SM Entertainment has officially introduced its new female act called "aespa," which came from the words "aspect," "experience," and "avatar" and carries the meaning "being able to experience a new world through another avatar of yourself." The label shared that the term "aspect" also signifies that the group has many various sides.
aespa members were revealed in the past weeks through teaser images, which were uploaded on the band's official social media accounts. The first member to be unveiled was Winter on Oct. 27 and followed by Karina, Ningning, and Giselle. Taking into account that aespa will be dealing with a futuristic "avatar" concept, the members' avatar counterparts were also publicized, particularly through the teaser photos and videos.
Teaser videos were also dropped and it showcased the vocal and dancing skills of aespa members, making fans more excited to see what the girl group has in store for them. aespa's official debut is on Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. with the single titled "Black Mamba" and its debut performance will take place two days after.
While four aespa members have already been revealed and the new girl group of SM Entertainment is now debuting, an unknown insider claimed that three more members will be added to the band shortly, thus making aespa composed of seven members in total.
Last October 29, this insider made a post, which many people found baseless. But then, right after the music video teaser for aespa's "Black Mamba," the post regained attention from the netizens.
The insider post says:
"This song is similar to K/DA's 'Popstar' but a little heavier, and the beginning has an electric guitar before they shout 'Hey' and then Karina is in the center of the formation. However, many times I listen to the song, it's just plain, generic hip-girl song. Part 1. Karina, 2. Ningning, 3. Winter, 4. Aeri. The debut is only 4 members and Winter and Ningning have the most parts. The dance during the highlight is similar to Girls' Generation's 'Girls bring the' part."
Numerous netizens are now shocked that many of the claims the insider stated in the post came true. Apart from the MV teaser and line distribution, the insider also asserted that three new members would be joining the lineup of aespa. And, it will be done sometime after SM Entertainment shared the official logo of the new girl group, along with the names of the first four members: Yoo Ji Min (Karina), Ningning, Aeri (Giselle). Kim Min Jung (Winter). And then writing the names of the alleged three new members: Initial R/L, Initial N, Initial (Could be A, Y, W, etc), Initial J, and Initial H, Initial R/L.
Right after the insider revealed the initials of the assumed new members, many netizens remembered someone with the "initial H, initial R/L," which they believed belongs to an already known SM trainee, Helen.
