BTS Jungkook Named as PEOPLE's 'Sexiest International Man'--First Person in History to Win the Title
BTS's youngest member Jungkook has recently received impressive recognition from People!
People are a renowned weekly magazine in the United States that feature celebrity news, feature stories about a specific person or people, and gossip. It boasts a readership of more than 45 million adults, thus earning the title "Magazine of the Year" in October 2005 by Advertising Age. Additionally, it is best known for its annual special issues such as "World's Most Beautiful," "Best & Worst Dressed," and "Sexiest Man Alive."
Last October, People launched a poll for "Sexiest Man Alive," allowing fans to vote in various categories from "Royal" to "Sexiest Guy on Tiktok." "Sexiest International Man" was among the categories, and BTS Jungkook was one of the nominees, along with four other men such as Canadian actor Dan Levy, Welsh actor Matthew Rhys, Irish actor Paul Mescal, and popular Australian singer-songwriter Keith Urban.
The poll for the "Sexiest Man Alive" lasted for about a month, and People recently announced the winners. And, BTS Jungkook has taken the top spot under his category. Hence he has been officially named "2020 Sexiest International Man." This is the first time People created the international category for "Sexiest Man Alive," and considering this, Jungkook becomes the first person to achieve the title of "Sexiest International Man."
While this is the idol's first time to earn People's "Sexiest International Man," BTS Jungkook was included in the "2018 Sexiest Man Alive" list in Flare. This Canadian online fashion magazine focuses mainly on Canadian content and its part in fashion, international art, and media. Park Jimin was also mentioned in the list.
The BTS maknae (youngest member) was also nominated Starmometer's "100 Sexiest Men in the World" back in 2018, and he also received the top spot, beating 99 male celebrities from all around the world. He got 2,927,537 votes - a total result from Facebook, Twitter, and Starmometer's official website.
Then, in 2019, Jungkook was again one of the nominees in Starmometer's "100 Sexiest Men in the World" and reached the Final 40 together with his fellow BTS members Jin, Taehyung, and Jimin. Other K-Pop stars were also nominated that time, including EXO members Kai and Sehun, Ji Chang Wook, Lee Seung Gi, Park Bo Gum, GOT7's Jackson, Nam Joo Hyuk, and more. Following the conclusion of the poll on Nov. 28, 2019, BTS Jungkook took the No. 3 spot, while Jin was in fourth place, Jimin was second, and Taehyung was the first.
The winners under the different categories of People's "Sexiest Man Alive" will be featured in the magazine's next release.
Meanwhile, K-Pop boy group BTS was also nominated in the "Sexiest Chart Topper" category and was pitted against Harry Styles, Roddy Ricch, Bad Bunny, and The Weeknd. Sadly, BTS did not win in the "Sexiest Chart Topper" category as it was received by the former One Direction member Harry Styles. And, the overall winner for People's "Sexiest Man Alive" this year is the American actor and producer, Michael B. Jordan.
