TREASURE Tops Gaon Weekly Album Chart with Single Album 'THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER THREE'

The latest release of YG Entertainment's rookie boy group, TREASURE, has been well-received in South Korea.

The idol group has just released their third single album titled "The First Step: Chapter Three," which serves as the third part of the "The First Step" series that started with the band's debut this year. The album consists of four tracks, including the lead track "MMM," "Orange," and the two aforementioned songs' instrumental versions.

On Thursday, Nov. 19, Gaon Chart updated its site, revealing the chart rankings for the week of Nov. 8 to Nov. 14. According to Gaon, TREASURE's "The First Step: Chapter Three," peaked at No. 1 for the week's physical album chart.

The boy group's third single album was launched on Nov. 6 KST together with the music video for "MMM." The total number of orders to date is approximately 214,000. It is said that TREASURE plans to continue promoting the album until the end of this year, so album sales may see an increase in the coming weeks.

TREASURE made its official debut in the K-Pop industry on Aug. 7 with its first single album "The First Step: Chapter." Since then, YG's rookie group has been entering charts with an impressive record of album sales. Recalling that the first and second single albums sold a total of 500,000 copies, 250,000 copies each, TREASURE's "The First Step" series sold a total of more than 700,000 album copies.

Among the rookies who debuted this year, TREASURE is one of the artists who has been making outstanding achievements. The support from growing global fans and the existing Treasure Makers (TREASURE's official fan club) is said to be increasing rapidly as the rookie group has stayed active for the past three months, continuously releasing single albums.

Previously, it was announced that TREASURE will launch its debut studio album in January next year. Considering this, the probability that YG Entertainment's rookie boy group would reach a total of 1 million album copies sold for its four releases is very high.

Following its launch, the song topped iTunes Tops Songs charts in eight different countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Paraguay, and the Philippines. "MMM" also hit No. 1 on Rakuten Music's real-time overall ranking and Line Music's Top 100 Chart in Japan.

TREASURE recently confirmed its appearance at the upcoming "2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards." This year's music festival, which will go by the theme of "Gate to NEW-TOPIA," will be held on Dec. 6.

Congratulations to TREASURE for another splendid feat!
