Aespa NingNing Resembles BLACKPINK Jennie, Says Fans and Netizens

After the first appearance of the newly debuted group Aespa through their debut showcase on Friday, fans and netizens can't help but think rookie idol NingNing got the looks and vibe of the popular female idol, Jennie of BLACKPINK.
Recently, SM Entertainment's first girl group since Red Velvet made a powerful entrance in the K-pop scene with their debut track, "Black Mamba." Their music video and song recorded numerous and favorable achievements, such as being the fastest debut MV to reach 10 Million views the day after its release, which is truly a great record for a new group.
The quartet comprises Karina, Giselle, Winter, and NingNing captured the interest of music fans with their amazing vocals and powerful dance, and their fancy visuals!
As soon as their solo teasers and pre-debut photos are circulated on social media platforms, fans are quick to express the resemblance of the members to current and active K-pop idols, such as Karina and Winter to SNSD's Taeyeon, Giselle to f(x) Krystal and NingNing to BLACKPINK Jennie!
On an online Korean community site Theqoo, Korean netizens and fans started a discussion about Jennie and NingNing's sister-like visuals, and the majority are making positive comments about it!
According to a fan, "To be honest, I think about Jennie while looking at her (Ningning) stage. Her expression is like Jennie's." A netizen added, "NingNing is really like Jennie with a little bit of Red Velvet's Joy."
Other netizens think that though the two idols don't really look much alike in physical aspects, their vibe or aura is similar, giving the elegant and classy image. Undoubtedly, some fans can't see the resemblance, but they think NingNing and Jennie are both pretty and talented.
BLINKs, the fandom of BLACKPINK, also approve of the resemblance, and they love the rookie idol more after discovering that she's a co-BLINK and is even a Jennie-biased fan! What a coincidence! Though NingNing received negative for the recent controversy regarding Avatar's alleged resemblance to BLACKPINK Lisa, she is now gaining favorable feedback.

Aespa, a name created using the combination of 'æ', which means 'avatar x experience', and aspect. The group aims to showcase various activities based on the world view of 'meeting another self, their Avatar.' On Friday, Aespa had their debut stage through KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' presenting 'Black Mamba' that gained viewers' hot responses.
"Black Mamba" is a powerful dance song based on the signature synth sound and strong bass, and it is expected to draw more attention through Aespa's future schedules and activities.
