TWICE to Premiere 'I Can't Stop Me' English Version on American Talk Show's YouTube Channel

TWICE's will be showing off the new version of their new song "I Can't Stop Me" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert!

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is a popular American late-night talk show that Stephen Colbert hosts since September 2015. The program focuses on discussing current events, particularly within the United States' politics. In the past four seasons, it has been the leading late-night show in the U.S.

On Nov. 23, the big news was posted on the official Twitter account of the American late-night talk show. The program announced that TWICE will be premiering the new performance video for "I Can't Stop Me" on the talk show's YouTube channel on Monday, Nov. 30 at 12:30 a.m. ET. Additionally, TWICE shared the announcement on its official SNS. 

The K-Pop girl group will be performing the English version of their new song, "I Can't Stop Me." In particular, TWICE will appear on the "Play At Home" series of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This marks the band's first-ever performance for an American talk show, thus exciting many fans.

Previously, it was announced that TWICE will release an English version of their new song "I Can't Stop Me," which the title track of the group's second full album titled "Eyes Wide Open," which was launched on Oct. 26 of this year. The rendition is scheduled to drop on Nov. 30 at 2:00 p.m. KST. 

"I Can't Stop Me" is a catchy synthwave with lyrics penned by Park Jin Young (founder of JYP Entertainment) and Shim Eun Ji and was composed by Melanie Joy Fontana, A Wright, and Michel Lindgren Schulz. The song has '80's influences and a rich instrumental that gives off a retro vibe. The track is about the internal struggle in a situation where one has to make a choice between good and bad.

The music video for "I Can't Stop Me," which was dropped on the same day of the album release, became the fastest MV of TWICE to reach 100 million views. It was out on Oct. 26 at 6:00 p.m. KST, and it hit the number of views on Nov. 7 at 5:13 a.m. KST, meaning the milestone took only more than 11 days and 11 hours. The previous record was held by "MORE & MORE," which reached the milestone in 12 days and 22 hours.

TWICE promoted "I Can't Stop Me" in several South Korean music shows and received seven trophies for the track. The girl group's latest win was in the Nov. 22 episode of SBS's Inkigayo, after beating Taemin and MAMAMOO. 

Meanwhile, TWICE recently launched their seventh Japanese single titled "BETTER" together with its music video. The song peaked at No. 1 on Oricon's daily singles chart with an estimated additional sales of 8.878 on Nov. 18. It was listed at No. 2 on the day before with 54,152 estimated sales. Moreover, the JYP girl group is one of the K-Pop artists who will attend the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2020 MAMA) that will be held on Dec. 6.
