Rookie Boy Group Ghost9 to Make First-Ever Comeback with New Album

Ghost9 is set to return to the K-Pop scene with a new album.

According to reports issued on Nov. 24, the rookie group will release a new album in mid-December. It is Ghost9's very first comeback only after three months since its debut this past September. The band released its debut extended play entitled "Pre-Episode 1: Door." It contains a total of six tracks, namely "Think of Dawn," which is the EP's title track, "Vision (Intro)," "Reborn," "It's Gonna Be Hot," "Lay Back," and "Flying at Night."

"Think of Dawn" is a pop dance song established on dubstep and hip hop. It is composed and written by PAPER MAKER; Yang Hae Min and EB also participated in the lyric-writing process. The music video for the track was also dropped on Sept. 23. As of Nov. 24 KST, the MV has reached 8.2 million views.

The rookie group held a solo showcase on the same day of their debut. Ghost9 was the first K-Pop act to perform on a rooftop of a 63-story building, drawing attention to their exceptional debut stage. Upon the release of "Think of Dawn," it is ranked first, second, and third on iTunes K-Pop charts in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, respectively. The song also took the No. 4 spot on the French iTunes Pop Chart and even landing on the music charts in Germany and the United States.

Ghost9 is the very first K-Pop boy group to debut under Maroo Entertainment. It consists of nine members born between 1999 and 2004 who have undergone systematic training for three years. The members are Hwang Dong Jun, Choi Jun Seong, Lee Kang Sung, Lee Woo Jin, Song Jun Hyun, Lee Jin Woo, Prince, Lee Tae Seung, and Lee Shin.

Lee Woo Jin, Lee Tae Seung, and Lee Jin Woo previously participated in Mnet's survival reality show "Produce X 101" and made their debut as a unit called TEEN TEEN back in September 2019 with the extended play titled "Very, On Top."

Meanwhile, Son Jun Hyung and Hwang Dong Jun auditioned in the survival reality program "MIXNINE," which was created by YG Entertainment in 2017 with the aim to debut a new group. The song was the only one who passed the audition. But then, he was eliminated in the first round of the show.

Prior to auditioning for MIXNINE, Dong Jun debuted as a solo artist on Sept. 7 of that same year with the stage name $ept Rabbit. He released his self-produced track titled "All I Need Is" on his birthday under PJ Company. Also, he was the one who produced Park Jihoon's "I AM" and "Still Love You" from the idol's "360" album in November 2019.

Kang Sung auditioned first for YGX Entertainment, a subsidiary label of YG Entertainment, and Ateam Entertainment before joining Maroo. And as for Shin, he is a former trainee under C9 Entertainment and was supposed to debut as a member of the boy group CIX.
