These 7 K-pop Idols Have the Shortest Training Period Before Debut [Updated 2022]

The training period is one of the toughest processes aspiring K-pop idols go through before debuting. While some took several years - or even a decade - of training, others eventually gave up their dreams due to the pressure and difficulties to debut.

However, the following K-pop idols are incredibly talented and idol-material. They were shortlisted and debuted in their respective groups in only three months or less of training!

These are the 7 K-pop idols with the shortest training period:

NCT Shotaro (3 Months)

NCT Shotaro was introduced before releasing "Resonance Part 1," and everyone was in awe to know that the young idol only trained for three months!

Music fans were amazed at his impeccable dancing abilities, and he was actually a TikTok star with a great number of followers before his debut.

Along with him, Super Junior Kyuhyun, VIXX Hyuk, 2AM Changmin also trained for three months only.

NCT Chenle (2 Months)

In 2018, SM Entertainment introduced the NCT Dream, a sub-unit of NCT, which comprises young members. Chenle then surprised K-pop fans when it was revealed that he only trained for two months!

KARD Jiwoo, Apink Eunji, and Super Junior Ryeowook also trained for two months before their debut.

Girl's Day Yura (1 Month)

Yura's beauty is truly top-tier in the K-pop industry that she even received 60 love calls from agencies before her debut. She only trained for a month and was chosen to debut in Girl's Day, along with Hyeri, to fill up for the position of Jisun and Jiin, who left the group after debuting.

Former KARA Jiyoung (2 weeks)

After training for two weeks under DSP Entertainment, Jiyoung was selected to become a member of the agency's new girl group. Later on, she debuted in KARA.

Former Wonder Girls Yeeun (Less Than a Week)

The former member of Wonder Girls, Yeeun, didn't have a training period as after appearance in the reality show "MTV Wonder Girls," J.Y. Park chose her as the final member of the debut team immediately!

She debuted in 2007 under JYP Entertainment and left in 2017. Currently, she's promoting under the name Ha:tfelt as a solo artist under Amoeba Culture.

LOONA Olivia Hye (1 Day)

Olivia Hye entirely skipped the training period!

The idol was the last member to join the group, and she confessed on a broadcast that after training for a day, she debuted right away!

Currently, Olivia holds the title for the shortest training period a K-pop idol had before its debut.
