STAYC's 'SO BAD' Enters Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart

STAYC is already reaching impressive achievements, even if they just made their debut.

STAYC is the first girl group formed by High Up Entertainment, an agency founded by Black Eyed Pilseung (a producer duo) in 2017, in partnership with CJ E&M. The female act was created after three years and is made up of six members, namely Sieun, Isa, J, Sumin, Seeun, and Yoon.

Considering that Black Eyed Pilseung will produce the rookie group's songs, K-Pop fans and netizens alike anticipated the band's debut. Black Eyed Pilseung is known for having numerous K-Pop hit songs such as Sistar's "Touch My Body," Chungha's "Gotta Go," and TWICE's "Like Ooh-Ah," "TT," "Likey," and many more.

STAYC officially debuted in the K-Pop scene on Nov. 12 with its first single album entitled "Star To A Young Culture," which is actually what the group name stands for. The album consists of the title track "So Bad" and the B-side track "Like This."

"So Bad" is a new genre DBS that features a combination of synthwave and drum&bass. It is a song that conveys the feelings of a person who really likes someone and hopes that person will accept her feelings and like her back.

On Nov. 25, just 13 days after the sextet's debut, the single "So Bad" has entered the United States' Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart. In particular, it took the No. 21 spots, proving how the girl group has captured K-Pop fans' hearts and attention in the U.S.

Not only that, STAYC has set an outstanding feat with their debut. This year, the band became the first-ever rookie group to attain more than 10,000 debut album sales on Hanteo Chart just a week after the album "Star to a Young Culture" was released.

According to the Initial Chodong sales data Hanteo Chart issued, the rookie group has reached the sales amount of 4,335 album copies from the first day of the album's launch, making the album debut No.3 on Hanteo Chart's Daily Album rankings. The following days, STAYC has recorded more album sales, leading to over 10,000 copies sold in just a week.

Furthermore, the music video for STAYC's debut single "SO BAD" has also been a splendid success as it managed to reach 2.6 million views with 104,000 likes, and trended at No. 11 on YouTube South Korea in only 24 hours after it was released. The rookie group has also shared the track's full choreography the day after they launched their single album. And on Nov. 14, STAYC dropped the performance video of the B-side track "Like This."

What's more, STAYC even garnered more than 30 thousand streams and over 10 thousand unique listeners on Genie.

The rookie group is announced to be making an appearance in 1theK "Hard Training" variety program in other news. The members will be undergoing training classes, best known for its Spartan training course to make the artists professional idol singers.
