BTS, TWICE, NCT and More Win Honors at the 'APAN Music Awards' + See Ranking

This year's 'APAN Music Awards' awardee list is out!

On Thursday, Nov. 26, Korean media outlet MK Sports revealed the top 10 K-Pop singers selected to receive trophies from the said awarding ceremony, including BTS, NCT 127, TWICE, and more. 

2020 APAN Music Awards + Ranking 

"APAN Music Awards" is the first integrated music awards ceremony, recognized by related organizations in the pop culture and arts planning industry, including the Korea Entertainment Producer's Association, Korea Music Industry Association, etc. 

On Nov. 6, the awarding ceremony organizers announced the list of nominees, comprising of 30 talented and influential K-Pop artists. The list was chosen following rubrics, including album sales, digital sales, fan voting, along with a fair review and performance by judges.  

Above all, it is meaningful because it has drawn high interest and participation from fans around the world in the popular vote as it can select the "best star" themselves.  

This year's ceremony will be hosted and organized by the Korea Entertainment Association, leading the Korean pop culture and arts industry, following the "2020 APAN STAR AWARDS" - established itself as the unique awards ceremony for all channels such as terrestrial, general programming, and cable.  

To acknowledge and give honors to the artists who shined this year, APAN held a popularity vote and fair along with the judges' unbiased judgment, the hottest artists this 2020 were determined. 

Kang Daniel, The Boyz, MONSTA X, BTS, SEVENTEEN, IZ*ONE, Lim Young Woong, GOT7, NCT 127, and TWICE are the artists that are hailed as top 10, list arranged in Korean alphabetical letter.  

Aside from the Top 10, APAN will also give special awards to NCT U as the "Best Icon," selected from the popular votes of fandom, Kang Daniel for "Best Performance," BLACKPINK for "Best Music Video," and GOT7's JB for "Best All-Rounder."

The Korean artists mentioned are also recognized as representative artists of the Hallyu Wave, who became more popular and powerful by capturing several hearts of K-pop fans this year. 

APAN Music Awards' Postponement Due to COVID-19

"APAN Music Awards" was actually set to be held on November 28, followed by the "APAN Star Award" on November 29. However, to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the events' respective schedules are yet to be announced.

Though the expectations and interest for the awards ceremony are high, "APAN Music Awards" is postponed indefinitely due to the rising numbers of coronavirus patients. 

The organizers said, "We believe that the top priority is to assure the health protection and safety of our artists, staff, and officials of pop culture artists and that the "2020 APAN STAR AWARDS" and "2020 APAN MUSIC AWARDS" will closely monitor the trends of the coronavirus incident and coordinate the schedule after establishing preventive measures to thoroughly follow the relevant quarantine measures and preventive measures."
