LOONA and Chungha to Perform for This Year's 'KIIS FM Jingle Ball Village'

LOONA and Kim Chungha have been chosen as performers for this year's "KIIS FM Jingle Ball Village."

Jingle Ball is an annual concert that is usually conducted in early-to-mid December by KIIS FM, the leading radio station in Los Angeles featuring DJs, celebrity interviews, and trending news. The concert series started back in 2000 and was staged at different venues around southern California. iHeartMedia sister stations host the concert as well in other cities since 2011, such as WXKS in Boston, WIQQ in Philadelphia, WHYI in Miami, and KRBE in Houston.

On Dec. 5, KIIS FM took to Twitter to share the details about its upcoming jingle ball. In the photo that was uploaded, the performing lineup for the concert was revealed and it includes K-Pop girl group LOONA and solo artist Kim Chungha. The two Korean acts will perform alongside the American boy band Why Don't We and Indonesian singer Stephanie Poetri.

"KISS FM Jingle Ball Village" is set to take place on Thursday, Dec. 10 from 5:10 p.m. PST and can be viewed via the 102.7 KIIS FM and iHeartRadio app.

Last year, the performing artists for "KIIS FM Jingle Ball Village" included K-Pop boy band BTS, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, Sam Smith, Camila Cabello, Halsey, French Montana, Lizzo, and Normani.

LOONA, a 12-member girl group, has just released an English-language song titled "Star," which is the B-side track of the third mini-album "12:00." Released on Nov. 18, "Star" is actually the English rendition for the B-side "Voice" from the mini-album. It consists of lyrics that talk about the group's fans called Orbit as the members sing about their "starlight." Not to mention, the stars shown in the music video for "Star" that illuminate LOONA"s path represent their fans.

The mini-album "12:00" is the band's first release after almost eight months since their second extended play titled "[#]" (read as hash). "12:00" was launched on Oct. 19 and it is composed of eight tracks, including the title track "Why Not?" which Billboard defined as a "shapeshifting" song. "Why Not?" is an uptempo electropop song that encourages listeners to be unique and free. SM Entertainment's Lee Soo Man was revealed to have taken part in producing the single.

Moreover, LOONA's mini-album "12:00" is their second release without leader HaSeul, who was previously announced to be taking a break from group activities to focus on her health.

Meanwhile, Kim Chungha has launched a new collaboration single titled "Dream of You," featuring DJ R3HAB who produced the song. Together with the performance video, "Dream of You" was out on Nov. 27. It served as a pre-release track for her upcoming first full-length album called "QUERENCIA," which is set to be released on Jan. 4 next year.

Based on the teaser images revealed last month, the solo artist is expected to release a new song on Dec. 10 that seems to be titled "X." Ahead of "Dream of You," Chungha has already pre-released two tracks this year, titled "Stay Tonight" last April and "Play" last June.
