Kai Talks How He Miss EXO + Reveals Difference in SuperM and Going Solo
Kai revealed his individual charm and honest answers after debuting three times! The K-pop singer who returned as a solo artist with his first self-titled debut mini-album, introduced his sultry track, "Mmmh," on Nov. 30.
As part of his promotion, the solo artist and member of K-pop group EXO appeared in SBS Power FM's "Choi Hwajung's Power Time" on Dec. 8, revealing his sincere thoughts in life and career.
What's the Difference Between EXO Kai, SuperM Kai, and Solo Artist Kai?
Kai is one of the best and most recognized dancers in the K-pop industry, who recently debuted with his solo debut album. Shortly after its release, his track received numerous achievements and achieved favorable results on various charts. In the interview, the male idol was asked about his feelings after debuting three times in EXO (2012), SuperM (2019), and as a solo artist (2020).
He answered, "If I am clueless during EXO's debut and felt like a baby who just comes out into the world, I had no new feeling when I debuted in SuperM."
Kai continued, "On the other hand, I should be more equipped should show better performances. My solo debut is more realistic because it only showcases me. Unlike when I don't have any idea about anything, I feel new every day due to how nervous I am to debut."
Meanwhile, when asked if what is the most empty moment he has while working as a solo artist, EXO Kai mentioned his group members, and said, "When I was eating, I could have ordered a variety of menus and shared them with the members, but I should only order one menu. That reminds me of the members."
Nevertheless, Kai also enjoyed debuting as a solo artist because he can be alone and prepare more before the stage. As to how the members supported him, Kai revealed that they encouraged, cheered, and even called him to say that they liked his stage.
Kai Revealed His Diet, The Forbidden Foods, and Cooking Tips
As the male idol is currently promoting and doing a lot of stages, being physically fit is one of the most important preparation Kai has been doing. He revealed that he can't eat jjamppong, as he needs to control his diet for his performances. That's why he also said that it will be on his must-eat list after his solo activities.
He also revealed his interest in cooking. Kai said, "I'm not good at cooking, but I like meat, so I wanted to eat it deliciously, so it was fun to look for recipes. I became interested in cooking a little. I want to make curry and jokbal when the activity is over."
He also revealed his own tips on eating meat deliciously. Kai said, "If you're eating pork belly, it's good to bake it in an air fryer or oven, then bake it back in a frying pan and sprinkle lemon at the end. When you eat ssamjang, it tastes different if you sprinkle perilla oil."
