This IZ*ONE Member Transformed From Being an Audience Member to an Idol Performing on Stage

This particular IZ*ONE member was once just an audience member but is now a famous idol who takes the stage to perform for the fans.

On Dec. 5, the main ceremony of this year's Melon Music Awards (MMA 2020) was conducted, and it was packed with spectacular performances by all of the favorite K-Pop idols. One female artist, however, is gaining attention from the netizens because of another reason.

IZ*ONE's Ahn Yujin has recently become a hot topic due to her huge life transformation. It was revealed that Yujin attended the Melon Music Awards back in 2016 as an audience member, particularly as an ARMY. A photo of her holding a BTS light stick or ARMY bomb as she cheers among the crowd resurfaced online.

In fact, Ahn Yujin personally talked about the matter during a V Live. She detailed, "It was at the end of the year and the winter holidays were coming, so I decided to book tickets to the awards ceremony. I stood very close to the stage, right at the fence, where there are cameras. I watched it very happily." She added, "When idols received awards, everyone is happy with them, crying with them. Seeing them so happy makes me want to become an idol."

Since the photo was uploaded, people have been talking about how Ahn Yujin attained her dreams of becoming an idol, which is just two years after she attended the MMA 2016. After training for one year and four months, she represented Starship Entertainment, together with Jang Wonyoung and Cho Kahyeon, on Mnet's reality girl group survival show "Produce 48" back in 2018. In that same year, Yujin debuted as an IZ*ONE member after finishing in fifth place in the said program's final round.

At present, Ahn has been achieving more accomplishments, alongside her fellow IZ*ONE members, since she made her debut in the K-Pop industry. In particular, the girl group's debut extended play and its lead single "La Vie en Rose" entered the Billboard World Albums and World Digital Songs chart, respectively. Because of this early success, IZ*ONE earned the title of "New Artist of the Year" in the Seoul Music Awards and Golden Disc Music Awards.

Apart from debuting in South Korea, the female act also released songs in Japan. The band's debut single "Suki to Iwasetai" was launched in February 2019. It took the No. 2 spot on Oricon Singles Chart and with more than 250,000 unit sales, the track earned a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

At this year's Melon Music Awards (MMA), IZ*ONE was included in the final winners of this year's Top 10 artists awards. Meanwhile, at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2020 MAMA), the band took home the "Favorite Female Group" award.

IZ*ONE recently released their fourth mini-album titled "One-reeler: Act IV," which features six songs including the title track "Panorama." The single ranked first on the real-time music charts of Bugs and Genie. Also, the mini-album topped the real-time album sales of Hanteo Chart after selling more than 190,000 copies on the day of its launch.
