KBS is currently under fire after the video of TWICE's "SIGNAL" performance at the recent "Gayo Daechukje" showed the girls experiencing problems with their microphones. Keep on reading to learn more.

The "2020 KBS Gayo Daechukje" aired on Friday, Dec. 18, and boasted an impressive line-up of artists, such as BTS, TWICE, and more. For the music festival, TWICE performed their hit songs "SIGNAL", "More & More", and "I CAN'T STOP ME". Notably, their "I CAN'T STOP ME" performance featured both the original version and the English version.

At the beginning of their "SIGNAL" stage, fans' voices can be heard singing together, as clips of ONCEs from all around the world can be seen appearing one by one through an electronic display. TWICE boasted a unique way of connecting with fans; despite being unable to perform in front of them, they were still able to have their fans be a part of the stage somehow. However, fans immediately became upset after they saw TWICE experience issues with their microphones.

Despite singing live, people could barely hear the sound of the members who are singing. It appears that the microphone was barely transmitting the sound of their voices. Notably, Jihyo's microphones were originally working fine, but by the middle of the stage, her voice could not be heard at all. People complained that the instrumental and the backing track was louder than TWICE's voice.

During the chorus, the fans can be heard singing along with TWICE. Many were upset that they could barely hear TWICE during that part and that the videos of the fans singing were louder than the actual performers. Many agreed that the sounds should have been balanced well so that both sides could be heard.

TWICE's "SIGNAL" stage, just like everybody else's stages for the music festival, was pre-recorded. However, it appears the live vocals of each member were not transmitted properly, causing them to have softer voices that can barely be heard. From time to time, some of the member's voices would go in and out of hearing range.

After their stage was aired, TWICE held a live stream through the V Live. They mentioned how they had all sang as best as they can during the performance. Though they were not that audible, TWICE did not mind. "It felt so good to be able to hear ONCEs voice," they told their viewers.

However, fans are still upset over the sound problem. Their microphones for their "More & More" and "I CAN'T STOP ME" performances were working well.

As of press time, KBS has yet to comment on the issue.

What do you think of the situation?

TWICE's most recent South Korean comeback was back in Oct. with "I CAN'T STOP ME" from their second studio album "Eyes Wide Open", which debuted at number 72 on the US Billboard 200. In Nov., TWICE made their comeback in Japan with the single titled "Better". The single debuted at number three on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.

During their appearance at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs), TWICE surprised fans by performing an unreleased track, "CRY FOR ME". Following high demand from viewers for TWICE to release the song, "CRY FOR ME" was released as a single on Dec. 18.
