D-Crunch member Hyunwoo is revealed to be parting ways with the group because of his current health issue. Continue reading to know what the exact reason of his departure is.

On Monday, Dec. 28, D-Crunch's agency, Ai Grand Korea, released an official statement containing saddening news for DIANAs (D-Crunch's fan club). The company stated that Hyunwoo has decided to discontinue his activities and will be leaving the group and the company due to health reasons.

This past September, the idol had a temporary break from scheduled activities including D-Crunch's promotions of their mini-album because of his back injury. During the preparation of D-Crunch's new mini-album titled "Across The Universe," Hyunwoo's back pain is said to have gotten worse so he was advised to halt all promotions, according to the label.

While he is expected to rejoin D-Crunch after he recovered, the doctor said that it will be difficult for him to carry out his activities. Hence, after careful discussion with Hyunwoo, his fellow D-Crunch members, and his family, as well as following the doctor's advice, Ai Grand Korea decided to respect Hyunwoo's decision and allowed him to leave the group and terminate his contract with them.

The company then asked for fans to continue sending love and warm support to the remaining D-Crunch members, as well as to Hyunwoo. Ai Grand Korea concluded their statement by saying, "We are now at the end of 2020. There were a lot of disappointments, but there are also so many things we are grateful for. We will do our best to show D-Crunch's further development and in 2021."

D-Crunch's Hyunwoo also announced his departure from the boy band and his management company through a handwritten letter, which he posted on the official fan café. The singer stated that he received a lot of treatments and spent his time exercising due to his waist disc injury.

Despite undergoing treatments and doing exercises, D-Crunch's Hyunwoo confessed that he continuously experience back pain. "Hence, after consulting my family, company, and members, I decided that it will be hard for me to continue my singing career. It's a very sudden decision, but I made this decision because I don't want to cause any trouble to my members, my family, and label, as well as to myself," he stated.

The singer went on to say that he is honored and has been happy with his fellow D-Crunch members. He also expressed his gratitude to the fans who have supported him over the years, as well as for giving him unforgettable memories.

Baek Hyun Woo, mononymously called Hyunwoo, became a trainee under AII-S Company in January 2017 and was officially introduced as one of the members and vocalists of the boy group D-Crunch in June 2018. D-Crunch, an abbreviation of "Diamond-Crunch," made its debut with the single album titled "0806" in August 2018.

D-Crunch's most recent release is their third mini-album titled "Across The Universe," which marked the group's first work without Hyunwoo. Launched this past October, the mini-album consists of five tracks including the lead single of the same name.
