TWICE, GOT7, SEVENTEEN, and More Confirmed to Attend 35th Golden Disc Awards

The first lineup of attending artists for the 35th Golden Disc Awards have been revealed, and it is packed with popular stars.

The "Golden Disc Awards" has been running for 35 years since its first event in 1986. The "35th Golden Disc Awards with CURAPROX" will take place non-face-to-face without an audience to ensure the safety and health of the artists and fans, as well as the staff. It will be broadcast on Jan. 9 and 10 on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4, with the first day being meant for the Digital Song Division and the second day for the Album Division.

All the mentioned artists are nominees for the Bonsang (Main Prize) at the 35th Golden Disc Awards, either in the Record Division (Album), Digital Song division, or both. The full list of nominees has been revealed earlier this month through Golden Disc Awards' official website. There are 30 candidates for Album Division and Digital Song division each, while there are 11 nominees for the Rookie Award.

Songs and albums that were launched from November 2019 through November 2020 are qualified to be included in the list of nominees. For the album division category, only albums with at least six songs (excluding intros, outros, and instrumentals) were accepted. Original soundtracks and projects songs from television programs were not eligible.

Moreover, releases that were excluded from the evaluation due to the previous year's judging count deadline are also candidates for this year's event. Nominees are chosen based on quantitative measures such as sales. The final winners will be selected based on sales (60%) and the judging panel's scores (40%). Data concerning sales and usage on streaming sites until mid-December will affect the final results.

The judging panel is composed of the ceremony's executive committee together with 50 industry professionals including directors of music programs, music distribution representatives, music critics, journalists specializing in music, and more. They will be analyzing qualitative measures such as the work's musical achievement and influence on the public.

Online voting will not take place for any of the major categories and will only be held for the popularity award, which is CURAPROX Golden Disc Popularity Award and QQ Music Fans' Choice K-Pop Artist Award. For the first award, fans can vote through the CURAPROX Golden Disc Award website. Fans can take part after logging in to their SNS account.
