BTS, EXO, BLACKPINK, and More Win at '35th Golden Disc Awards' Day 2
The winners for the "35th Golden Disc Awards Day 2" have been revealed! Among them, BTS, EXO, GOT7, SEVENTEEN, BLACKPINK, and many more took home awards in particular categories.
On Jan. 10, the 35th Golden Disc Awards with CURAPROX held its second of its two-day ceremony, which was meant for the Album Division. The first day (Jan. 9) was for the Digital Song Division. The first day's winners can be found HERE.
Albums that were released from November 2019 through November 2020 were nominated for this year's awards ceremony. The winners were determined based on sales (60%) plus the judging panel's scores (40%). The panel evaluated qualitative measures such as the album's achievement and impact on the public.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all performances for the 35th Golden Disc Awards were pre-recorded without an audience to prevent any possible spread of the virus. Also, social distancing was observed during the event.
Meanwhile, several K-pop groups and solo artists such as BTS, BLACKPINK, EXO Baekhyun, and more have proven their growth as artists with their excellent releases last year, claiming an award or two at this year's Golden Disc Awards Day 2.
Album Division Bonsang (Best Album)
A total of 10 Korean acts received the "Best Album" award at the ceremony. These are BLACKPINK, TWICE, BTS, NCT, TXT, SEVENTEEN, NCT 127, GOT7, EXO and member/soloist Baekhyun.
EXO's Baekhyun, who was the only K-pop soloist who won the said recognition, gave his acceptance speech, saying, "We are one! Hello, this is EXO Baekhyun. At the 35th Golden Disc Awards, my second album 'Delight' was able to win the 'Best Album' award. How was I able to receive a bonsang alone? Thank you so much! It's all thanks to our EXO-Ls that we are able to receive an award may it be as a group or solo artist. I don't think there will be a second time. In the future, I will work hard as much as I'm doing right now. Please give me a lot of love and please expect a lot."

Trot singer Kim Ho Joong is the third act to receive the "Best Rookie Artist" award. Meanwhile, the "Best OST" award went to Jo Jung Suk."
Album of the Year (Daesang)
Last but not the least, the winner who took home this year's grand prize was none other than BTS. This is the group's fourth year in a row that they have claimed the Disc Daesang. In addition to the Digital Daesang they received last year, BTS now has a total of five grand prizes from the Golden Disc Awards, making them the very first K-pop artist to achieve a milestone in history.
In BTS's speech for the "Album of the Year" award, the group's leader RM stated, "The seven of us have gathered for this big awards ceremony, so let's do our proper greeting. ARMY, you're watching, right? Once again, we have started a new year with such a major award at this amazing ceremony. I'm happy that we could receive this award with Suga by our side."
