GOT7 Mark's YouTube Channel Garners Thousands of Subscribers Following News of Departure from JYPE

GOT7 Mark has achieved a milestone with his YouTube channel even without a single video as thousands of fans are now his subscribers.

On Jan. 11, JYP Entertainment has issued an official statement regarding GOT7's exclusive contract with them. The record label revealed that the boy group decided not to renew the exclusive contract between them. Hence, all GOT7 members will be leaving the agency following their contract expiration on Jan. 19, which is six days from now.

Ahead of JYP Entertainment's announcement, Dispatch reported that all members of the boy band will be moving forward with their own activities after they leave the company. Among the members, GOT7 Mark is said to be planning to return to the United States and spend time with his family in Los Angeles for the time being. He also plans to provide video content for his own YouTube channel and hopes to produce solo music in the US as well.

After hearing these, thousands of GOT7 fans also called Ahgase or IGOT7, immediately subscribed to his YouTube channel. Just a few hours after JYPE released an official statement, it already reached 100,000 subscribers, earning the idol a silver YouTube play button in less than a day without any video.

As hours go by, the GOT7 member continues to gain more and more subscribers. As of today, Jan. 13, the artist has more than 700,000 people subscribed to his YouTube channel. Mark, who is aware of this, posted a message on his channel's community section. He hilariously said, "Thanks for half a mil guys... hope you guys are enjoying the videos... LOL."

 

The idol also posted on Twitter, where he wrote, "You guys are seriously too much.. silver play button with no vids..? LETSGOOO." It is said that in the past seven years, GOT7 Mark only has 50,000 subscribers. Thanks to Ahgase's generous support, it is about to be one million.

Mark Tuan is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, and model based in South Korea. He is the visual and the lead rapper of the boy group GOT7. In 2010, he was spotted by a JYP Entertainment scout and invited him to the company's audition, which he accepted despite him having no desire to pursue a musical career. Because of his years of training, he was inspired to become an idol.

For those who don't know, Tuan made a cameo in the first episode of Dream High 2 as a backup dancer along with JB and Jinyoung, who later became his fellow GOT7 members when they all debuted in January 2019 along with Jackson, BamBam, Youngjae, and Yugyeom.

Since the "Just Right" extended play, GOT7 Mark has been actively participating in writing the lyrics of some of the group's songs, including "Back To Me," "Let Me" and "My Home," and more. Besides appearing on stages, GOT7 Mark was also featured in numerous magazines across South Korea, Thailand, and China. Since early 2017, he has been a model for Dazed Korea, Grazia, Nylon, Allure, Vogue Korea, GQ Thailand, and so on.
