On Jan. 18, WayV was at a filming site: they were filming despite the harsh weather in South Korea. As the filming continued, the members were followed by a group of sasaeng fans, who were caught taking photos of the members despite the cold and snow. The location was never revealed and the boys had never revealed to fans that they were filming something, which led people to believe that the group was being stalked.

It seems the members themselves could no longer hold back. They snapped photos of the sasaengs and exposed them on the Lysn app, Dear. U Bubble. Notably, Lucas left the longest message out of all of them, revealing how angry he was over the situation.

In his post, the idol wrote, "Everyone, we are in the middle of filming now, but there are these people here, it is so... The weather now is also... why are they so ridiculous? Seriously, I am pissed. I am sorry to everyone for being like this suddenly."

Members Kun and Xiaojun also vented out their frustrations to fans through the app, with Xiaojun simply saying, "This is so rude!"

Leader Kun, on the other hand, told fans, "Also, they are taking photos of the members going to the toilet?! That is enough!"

This is not the first time WayV has spoken up about sasaengs. In the past, members of WayV (and NCT In general) have spoken up against them on numerous live broadcasts. They have asked sasaengs to stop showing up outside of their house and to stop finding their personal numbers, and to stop calling them. Further, WayV has also called out so-called fans who mobbed them at the airport.

Due to how often WayV and NCT have spoken up about being stalked by sasaengs, NCTzens/Weishennies demanded SM Entertainment to take better measures to protect their artists. On Twitter, the fandom spread the hashtag #PROTECTWAYV, where they noted how WayV has expressed discomfort and anger over having their privacy breached numerous times. Fans also asked the company to take immediate action to protect the idols.

What do you think of the situation?

2020 was a busy year for WayV. The group released their first studio album "Awaken the World on June 9, 2020, with the title track "Turn Back Time". The song peaked at the top three of the Tencent Music's UNI Chart and the Gaon Album Chart. The album also peaked at number nine on the Billboard World albums charts while the title track "Turn Back Time" peaked at number twelve on the World Digital Song Sales Chart.

On Jan. 17, WayV celebrated their second anniversary.
