Prior to EPIK HIGH x Rapper B.I collaborative track "Acceptance Speech," the latter confessed his real initial feelings about accepting the offer of becoming a featured artist by the K-Hip Hop icons. 

On Jan. 18, Monday, B.I. returned to the music stage as a featured artist in one of the tracks of EPIK HIGH's full-length album, "Epik High is Here" (Part 1).

EPIK HIGH, featuring B.I, Releases "Acceptance Speech"

"Acceptance Speech" is a page-like song from a diary that depicts the light and darkness, clouds and dark clouds that coexist in all of our hearts, and the musical sensibilities and chemistry of EPIK HIGH and B.I. prove their excellence in terms of concept and music.

In addition to this, B.I participated in writing and composing songs with the legendary trio. As a talented rapper himself, B.I proved his writing and composing expertise. It's not unknown to fans that he was the songmaker of "Love Scenario," "MY TYPE," and WINNER x iKON's "Empty."

B.I. parted ways from, iKON, and simultaneously terminated his exclusive contract with YG Entertainment due to the allegations of purchasing and using illegal drugs in 2019.

The singer-rapper immediately received flak and news of his involvement in the issue caused uproar. Continuous investigations and legal proceedings occurred, and amid those, fans remained hopeful that all of the allegations against him were untrue.

Then, in 2020, the investigation concluded and it was proven that the he is innocent after testing negative of drug use. According to the evaluation, no drug substance was found from B.I's samples, wrapping the whole case.

Since then, Hanbin or B.I, has been on a long hiatus from the music industry, though he did upload a track on his SoundCloud, and with his official return as a featuring artist in the EPIK HIGH album, attention has been focused on whether he will resume his full-fledged activities as a soloist.

B.I Expressed His Worries about The Collaboration with EPIK HIGH

"Acceptance Speech," upon its release, received a sizzling, colossal response from music fans as it trended on real-time searches of Naver and even topped the charts.

Regarding this collab, B.I sincerely said, "I actually had a hard time deciding even after I was offered by EPIK HIGH because I thought I might cause trouble. But I was encouraged by their advice and encouragement from my seniors, and I participated in this song after careful consideration."

He added, "It was a dream come true for me to collaborate with Epik High, whom I look up to for a long time. I want to say thank you again to the seniors who gave me the opportunity to participate in such a great song."

Currently, B.I. is an in-house executive director of IOK Company, a global comprehensive entertainment company, appointed in the second half of last year. Amid this, he has continued to do good deeds with donations and volunteer activities to support the vulnerable in South Korea.
