BTS the Lone K-Pop Act on the List of Esquire's "The Best Pop Bands of All Time Prove the Universal Power of Music"

According to Esquire, pop music references popular music. It is mostly known for its catchy melodies, memorable choruses, and creative lyrics. With that, Esquire looked at the hit-maker groups in the history of music. The only requirement Esquire had in selecting a group to make their list is "topping the charts."

Esquire's list was ranked in no particular order, and BTS was the final group Esquire mentioned. They noted that K-pop as a genre has been around four decades now, but BTS is arguably at the frontline of the genre's worldwide success. The group's fanbase, the ARMYs, have helped change history by redefining boy groups, fandom power, and pop music as a whole.

"Dynamite" earned BTS a Grammy nomination for the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards under the "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance."

In terms of chart performance, "Dynamite" debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the first time a Korean act had a number one hit in the United States.

"Life Goes On" was released on Nov. 20, 2020, as the lead single of BTS's fifth studio album, "BE." On the Billboard Hot 100, "Life Goes On" debuted at number one, making it the first Korean-language song to hit number one in the United States.
