IZ*ONE’s 'D-D-Dance' Breaks Through Domestic and International Charts
IZ*ONE proves their charm across the world as their latest single "D-D-Dance," the flagship song for the K-Pop fan app UNIVERSE, has topped music charts shortly after its release.
The new single from IZ*ONE and NCSoft's UNIVERSE saw its digital single released on January 26 and the music video on the 28th, coinciding with the official release of the new K-Pop fan interaction platform. Furthermore, "D-D-Dance" is the first single to be released as a part of "UNIVERSE Music," the NCSoft platform's original music series from various K-pop groups and solo artists signed with the platform.
As a sign of the warm response received by IZ*ONE and "D-D-Dance," the new track has already peaked at the second spot of the Genie Music and Bugs real-time charts, as well as debuting fourth on Melon real-time charts. Genie, Bugs, and Melon are South Korean music charts monitoring singles and album sales and streams.
Internationally, NCSoft's entertainment subsidiary Klap also reported that the digital single for "D-D-Dance" also entered the iTunes K-Pop charts in 13 different countries by January 27, 6:00 PM KST. Its iTunes K-Pop chart domination includes Germany, the US, Canada, the UK, Hongkong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Turkey.
It has also debuted on the US Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart at the 25th spot for the chart dated February 6, 2021.
IZ*ONE returns with a dance-pop track in "D-D-Dance," sporting upbeat guitar rhythms fused with synth patterns, the song perfectly combines the charms of the twelve members of the girl group and the mystery and expanse of the UNIVERSE. This idea was further espoused in the music video, which features the members meeting in a wooden room with a star-filled background.
The new hit track was written by K-Pop hitmaker Full8room, a composer who has worked with other popular girl groups including TWICE, WJSN, Lovelyz, and Weki Meki. A surefire hit, "D-D-Dance" has started gaining traction in various parts of the world.
UNIVERSE Music is off to a promising start, thanks to IZ*ONE's talent and showmanship. They will be followed by other artists, who will also release their original songs together with the NCSoft platform. Fans can look forward to future projects from MONSTA X, Kang Daniel, WJSN, Park Ji Hoon, CIX, and more.
Aside from the UNIVERSE Music, fans can also look forward to the upcoming original content on UNIVERSE Originals. As IZ*ONE kicked off the music segment with "D-D-Dance," the original series on the platform has been teased with posters and trailers for Kang Daniel's "Agent Blackjack K" and MONSTA X's "Area 51: The Code."
