Irene, along with the other stars of "Double Patty," appeared at the Lotte Cinema Bridge Entrance in Gwangin-gu, Seoul, for the film's premiere and press conference. During the event, Irene herself mentioned that it was the first time she was meeting fans at a movie preview and that she felt both nervous and embarrassed.

She went on to explain that she felt embarrassed to see herself acting on the big screen. However, she reveals that this project also brought her encouragement and comfort due to the different scenes, such as the mukbang portion, in the movie.

Prior to her appearance in the "Double Patty" movie premiere, Irene was seen with co-star Shin Seung Ho in a promotional video for the film. The video, which was uploaded on Tuesday, Feb. 9, has the two staring at the camera and promoting the video. Viewers noted that Irene appeared to be trying her hardest to look happy in the video and maintain her smile, but that she would accidentally slip and have a blank expression.

The Negative Reactions

Many people are still not accepting Irene's return to the entertainment industry, with many still bringing up her previous attitude scandal. People have commented that Irene now gives a different vibe than she used to. Once praised for being the top visual in K-pop and for being the epitome of the Korean beauty standard, some have said that Irene is no longer as pretty after her true colors were revealed.

"Double Patty" Synopsis: Two Hopeful Individuals Bond over Burgers

"Double Patty" is an upcoming South Korean film, set to release on Feb. 17, 2021. The film follows Woo Ram (Shin Seung Ho), who is busy preparing to get a job, and Hyun Ji (Red Velvet's Irene), a would-be news anchor who is now working at a local hamburger shop.

One night, Woo Ram visits the restaurant and orders a hamburger with two patties (Double Patty), which has a "buy one, get one free" promo. This kickstarts the duo's relationship.
