BLACKPINK Now the Most Followed Female Group on Spotify + 'THE ALBUM' Beats Fifth Harmony's 'Reflection'

BLACKPINK is, undeniably, a force to be reckoned with, especially when it comes to music. Though Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé spent several years of rigorous training before they were officially launched as a group, the girls are now starting to reap all the fruits of their hard work.

As a matter of fact, the South Korean girl group has been dominating various music streaming sites and charts in the recent months.

BLACKPINK is Now the Most Followed Female Group on Spotify

BLACKPINK caught the hearts of many with their stunning visuals, impressive singing prowess, and exemplary dancing skills. Adding to that the fact that most of the BLACKPINK songs have catchy beats and remarkable lyrics.

So, it comes as no surprise that the YG Entertainment-formed group was named as the biggest girl group today.

On Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, it was revealed that BLACKPINK is the most followed female group on Spotify. Reports stated that Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé have amassed a total of 19.1 million followers on the said music streaming platform.

Following BLACKPINK in the second spot is Fifth Harmony, which was composed of Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, Normani, and Dinah Jane before they disbanded in 2018. The American girl-group, which was formed in the second season of "The X Factor" in 2021, got more than 12.1 million followers on Spotify.

Little Mix, which was composed of Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, ranked third with more than 8.6 million followers. Most, if not all fans, are aware that Jesy departed the group in 2020 because of her mental health issues. Up until now, it remains unclear if the remaining members would continue with their singing career as a group.

Aside from BLACKPINK, other K-Pop groups that made it to the Top 5 Most Followed Female Groups on Spotify list include TWICE and Red Velvet. TWICE, which is comprised of Nayeon, Dahyun, Mina, Tzuyu, Momo, Sana, Chaeyoung, Jeongyeon and Jihyo, made more than 8 million followers on Spotify already. On the other hand, Red Velvet, which is composed of Seulgi, Joy, Yeri, Irene and Wendy, collected more than 4.8 followers on the said platform as of press time.
