TWICE members Jihyo and Chaeyoung recently sat down for an interview with the media outlet Sports Seoul and answered questions related to being the leader and maknae (youngest member) of the group.

On Tuesday, Feb. 16, Sports Seoul issued several exclusive interviews with leaders and youngest members of different K-pop groups in which their opinions about their positions in the group were revealed. Among the Korean acts who were interviewed is JYP Entertainment's nine-member girl group, TWICE. In particular, the band's leader Jihyo and maknae Chaeyoung participated in the session. Each of them answered five questions.

Jihyo Talks about Being TWICE's Leader

The first question asked to TWICE Jihyo was, "What is the best thing about being the leader?" The female idol responded that while she fulfills her responsibilities as the girl group's leader, she was able to learn how to organize her thoughts better.

The second question given to her was about the most difficult thing she experienced as the TWICE member who leads. Jihyo answered, "It's sometimes hard to reach an agreement when everyone has different opinions, but the members help me a lot so it's okay." The "Fancy" singer was then asked when she is the most jealous or surprised by the maknae. She wittingly said that they all have their own roles in the group, so she doesn't get jealous at all.

The fourth question was "If you were born again, would you prefer to be the leader or the maknae?" The female idol explained, "I'm the eldest child at home and the leader of my group so I've never had a chance to live as a maknae before. I think I fit to be a leader more than a maknae."

 Lastly, TWICE's leader was asked to give a few words of encouragement to the youngest members for the New Year. Jihyo said, "Please continue to stay as our cute and loveable maknaes this year and forever."

Chaeyoung Shares Her Thoughts about Being TWICE's Maknae

While Chaeyoung isn't really the very youngest member of the girl group, she is still part of the maknae line. The questions asked to the female idol during the interview are similar to TWICE Jihyo but from the point of view of a maknae. She was first asked to name the best thing about being TWICE's maknae.

The rapper responded, "The unnies (older members) always think I'm cute and take care of me because I am the maknae." Then, she was asked to share the hardest thing about being in that position in the group. TWICE Chaeyoung revealed that it was "finishing filming late" since the female act records scenes by age.

The rapper later revealed the time when she is the most jealous or surprised by TWICE Jihyo. She stated, "When she gathers all of our opinions, organizes them, and presents them to the management even though it might be intimidating."

When she was asked if she would like to be reborn as a leader or maknae, TWICE Chaeyoung chose to still be the youngest one. The "Feel Special" singer explained, "I don't think being the leader suits me because I'm quiet. I think working hard in my given position fits me the best."

Finally, a few words she gave to TWICE's leader, Jihyo, is: "Thank you for being our supportive pillar, and I love you."
