BTS V Selected by Cesar Award-Winning Director Xavier Dolan as Someone He Would Like to Work with

BTS V was mentioned in an interview conducted by Arena Homme Plus, a men's fashion magazine, with Xavier Dolan for its March issue and fifteenth anniversary.

Who is Xavier Dolan?

Xavier Dolan is a Canadian film director who started his career as a child actor in commercials. He quickly gained international attention with his first film, "I Killed My Mother," which he wrote, produced, directed, and starred in. The movie was premiered at the famous Cannes Film Festival in the "director's fortnight" section.

Since 2009, the Canadian film director has written and directed eight feature movies. He even directed the music video for Adele's hit song "Hello" in 2015. Moreover, he has won numerous awards for his work, including the "Jury Prize" for "Mommy," the "Grand Prix" for "It's Only the End of the World. On top of that, he has also earned multiple Cesar Awards and Canadian Screen Awards.

Xavier Dolan Reveals He Hopes to Work with BTS V One Day

During the interview with Arena Home Plus, the Cesar award-winning director was asked about the person he would like to cast among Korean artists. He mentioned two Korean acts and one of them is BTS V. Xavier Dolan shared that he finds BTS V really charismatic and he wishes to work with him someday. His answer had many fans hoping to see the K-pop idol make his big-screen debut.

The other Korean star the Canadian film director chose is actor Choi Woo Sik, who received attention for his impressive acting in "Parasite," the first Korean movie to win "Palme d'Or" which is the highest award given at the Cannes Film Festival. It also became the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.

BTS V's Acting Debut

Meanwhile, BTS V has only participated in one drama back in 2016 but he has proven his potential to become one of the best actors in the future. In that year, he was cast in a supporting role for KBS2's historical drama "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth" under his real name, Kim Taehyung. This marked his acting debut.

Because of his remarkable acting skills, the "Blue & Grey" producer was forecast to be seeing more acting opportunities. Not to mention, his "Hwarang" co-star Do Ji Han praised BTS V for his passion to learn when it comes to acting. Since, "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth" was his first acting project, he asked help from his co-actors, according to him.

Do Ji Han commented, "Taehyung unexpectedly worked really, really hard. He's talented by nature. He's also grown a lot in acting. Because he has a lot of talent, I thought he would do great if I guided him a little. He has a strong will."

Besides his passion to learn, the Korean actor also praised BTS V for his work attitude. He said that despite him being the youngest actor, he approached the older actors and made suggestions on what to do together in the drama. He even finds the "Snow Flower" singer amazing as he was able to manage his activities as a singer and an actor.
