BTS Proves Massive Influence after 'Fix You' Cover on 'MTV Unplugged' + Group Boosts Stream Counts on Spotify

BTS has been very vocal about their appreciation towards their fans and even credited them as among the primary reasons behind their global success. In return, the septet has been working so hard to please their fans through their music and performances.

Several fans were moved when BTS rendered a soulful version of Coldplay's "Fix You" on "MTV Unplugged."

BTS Finally Appears on "MTV Unplugged"

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, BTS performed a myriad of songs during their most recent appearance on "MTV Unplugged." Aside from performing some of their trending tracks like "Life Goes On," "Telepathy," and "Blue & Grey," the members also performed a cover of a famous song by Coldplay, "Fix You."

Before the Bangtan Boys started, Jimin stated that the said track actually gave them a feeling of comfort during these trying times. Because of that, he, alongside his co-members, prepared a cover of "Fix You" so their fans will experience the relief they felt upon hearing it.

BTS did not disappoint the ARMYs as rendered a soulful and moving performance. The members also looked stunning in their gray-color-coordinate ensembles.

Following their performance, reports claimed that "Fix You" by Coldplay saw a major boost in terms of page views. As a matter of fact, the track made it to the Top 10 list of the Genius Chart again more than a decade since its official release, which clearly shows the vast influence of the South Korean septet.

BTS ended their five-song performance with a mellow version of their trending "Life Goes On" song. During the group's closing speech, the group thanked all of their followers for witnessing their performance. The "Boy with Luv" hitmakers also expressed their eagerness to hit the center stage again to perform in front of the ARMYs. BTS member Jungkook then said that the group will continue staying by everyone's side through their music. RM added they hope that their fans were comforted while watching from their respective rooms and houses.

BTS Generates 15 Billion Streams on Spotify in 2021

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that BTS already amassed a total of 15,233,308,182 streams on Spotify as of Feb. 22. The "Map of the Soul: 7" also gathered a total of 2,576,267,727 streams while "BE" got more than 1.2 billion streams so far.

On the other hand, "Dynamite" also got worldwide certifications. The track earned a platinum certification in Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Japan (Streaming), and South Korea (Gaon Streaming). The same song was given gold certification in Japan (Downloads), Greece, Mexico, Belgium, Poland, France, and the United Kingdom.

BTS has also been dominating the Billboard charts with "Dynamite" being listed at No. 45 on the Hot 100 chart. The albums of BTS also topped the Billboard World Albums chart, with "BE" at No. 1, "Map of the Soul: 7" at No. 2, "Love Yourself: Answer" at No. 5, "Love Yourself: Tear" at No. 6, "Map of the Soul: Persona" at No. 8, "Skool Luv Affair" at No. 11 and "Love Yourself: Her" at No. 14.
