TVXQ Yunho was investigated and will be given a penalty by the police for staying late at night at a restaurant, violating the regulated curfew and restriction order.

On March 9, Korean news outlets reported that that U-Know Yunho, a member of TVXQ was investigated by the police and will be charged after the male idol stayed at a restaurant until midnight at the end of last month, amidst the second stage of the business restriction.

Following the news, SM Entertainment released their official position about the issue and stated that Yunho deeply apologized for the incident.

TVXQ Yunho Allegedly Violated Act on the Prevention and Management of Infectious Diseases

According to reports, U-Know Yunho was reportedly caught at a restaurant in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, late last month after staying at midnight past the business limit of 10 p.m.

When the social distancing phase is in the second stage, the operating hours of restaurants and cafes are limited to 10 p.m. only.

It was added that Yunho met his acquaintances and while talking, they passed the business hours, thus, the police are reportedly investigating the idol along with his acquaintances on charges of violating the Act on the Prevention and Management of Infectious Diseases.

Yunho Apologized + SM Entertainment Drops their Official Statement

Shortly after, SM Entertainment, the agency of Yunho issued a statement on the same day and responded, "U-Know Yunho was recently investigated over the business limit while meeting and talking with three acquaintances at a restaurant in Gangnam."

They added, "U-Know Yunho is deeply regretting and reflecting on himself for disappointing many people due to this incident."

We are truly apologizing for causing a lot of concerns from people amidst COVID-19.

U-Know Yunho recently met with his three acquaintances at a restaurant in Gangnam and was investigated after the business hours limit.

U-Know Yunho deeply regrets that he disappointed many people with his carelessness, and we are also sorry for not thoroughly managing and guiding our artists to follow the quarantine rules even in their personal activities.

We will surely make more efforts to educate and guide our artists about the quarantine rules so that everyone who is doing their best in their positions, including medical staff, quarantine personnel, and volunteers, and those who are working hard to overcome COVID-19 will not be put to waste.

Again, we deeply apologize for causing concerns."

TVXQ Yunho and Changmin Selected as MCs for Mnet's "Kingdom"

On the other hand, U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin were announced to be the MC for Mnet's reality survival show, "Kingdom" prior to the police investigation of the former.

In January, Mnet confirmed that the iconic K-pop duo will be hosting the sequel of "Road to Kingdom" a spin-off to "Queendom." It is a program where K-pop idol groups perform a survival stage to take the throne.

The final lineup consists of K-pop groups, The Boyz, ATEEZ, Stray Kids, SF9, iKON, and BTOB."Kingdom" will be broadcasted through Mnet starting on April 1, drawing K-pol enthusiasts' attention.
