BLACKPINK Rosé's 'On the Ground' Tops over 50 iTunes Charts + Idol Sets Records on MelOn and QQ Music

BLACKPINK Rosé has finally made her solo debut with her much-anticipated single album titled "-R-." Just minutes or hours after it was released on various streaming platforms, the debut single album and solo tracks successfully made it to iTunes Charts, MelOn, and QQ Music, setting impressive records.

BLACKPINK Rosé's debut single album "-R-" contains two songs titled "On the Ground" and "Gone," in which the female idol took part in writing the lyrics. "On the Ground," which serves as the title track, features lyrics entirely in English and talks about having been wanting to be on top but realizing later on that what's important is within oneself.

Shortly after her single album "-R-" was released, Rosé was the most-searched artist on MelOn with more than 200,000 searches on the platform. The BLACKPINK member also trended at No. 1 on QQ Music.

BLACKPINK Rosé's "On the Ground" Ranks First on More than 50 iTunes Charts

Aside from that, BLACKPINK Rosé's "On the Ground" has taken the No. 1 position of iTunes charts in more than 50 different countries all over the world. In particular, as of March 13 at 8 a.m. KST, the song has reached 55 No. 1s, and among the countries are the United States, Greece, Czech Republic, France, Canada, Spain, Finland, Romania, Slovakia, Malta, Egypt, and more.

BLACKPINK Rosé's debut song is now the track by a female solo artist with the most No. 1s on iTunes this year, surpassing Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License," which took the top spot of 40 iTunes charts. Additionally, Rosé is now the first-ever Korean female solo artist to hit No. 1 on the US iTunes songs chart with no feature. And, she now joins IU and her bandmate Jennie as the only K-pop female soloists in history to debut at No. 1 on the worldwide iTunes chart.

BLACKPINK Rosé's "On the Ground" Sets Records on MelOn

Rosé's achievements didn't stop there as her debut song is also doing quite well on MelOn. "On the Ground" has become the third-fastest song to enter MelOn 24Hits Top 5, ranking third for being able to make it to the top 5 in 10 hours. It is also one of the fastest songs to debut on MelOn 24Hits Top 10 within only eight hours, joining BTS's "Dynamite" and "Life Goes On." And as of writing, BLACKPINK Rosé's "On the Ground" is at No. 3 on the said chart.

Rosé's "Gone" also debuted on MelOn 24Hits, particularly it is at No. 11 as of press time. The BLACKPINK member becomes the first female solo artist to have a B-side track debut on the chart this year. And she now joins IU, Girls' Generation Taeyeon, and Yerin Baek as the only female solo artist to have a B-side single on MelOn 24Hits.

BLACKPINK Rosé's Single Album Enters and Earns Several Certifications on QQ Music

BLACKPINK Rosé's single album "-R-" has also been setting records on QQ Music in China. The single album was quickly certified platinum on the music streaming service after selling more than 150,000 downloads. It later achieved a double platinum certification after exceeding 300,000 downloads, just 47 minutes since it was released.

"-R-" then sold 500,000 downloads on March 12 at 6 p.m. KST, earning the triple platinum certification on QQ Music. Then, on March 13 at 1 a.m. KST, BLACKPINK Rosé's single album has sold 800,000 downloads, becoming the first Korean album to achieve this mark. It is now the most-downloaded K-pop female artist digital album, surpassing BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love" with 624,713.
