Soyou Releases Comeback with 'Good Night, My Love,' Shares Insight on Interview

Soyou has finally released her much-awaited comeback, "Good Night, My Love," last March 11. With support from fellow hitmakers Lee Hyori and Babylon, the South Korean singer bares more about the track in a new interview.

Releasing her first single in eight months, "Good Night, My Love" signed Lee Hyori on as the songwriter and Babylon as the composer. The track dropped across various Korean and global music streaming platforms last Thursday, 6 PM KST.

The track is the latest single after "GOTTA GO," released last June 28, 2020. So far, the song has been receiving warm reception for its multi-instrumental sound delivering a sincere message that soothes people as spring sets in.

Additionally, "Good Night, My Love," marks the latest collaboration between Lee Hyori and Babylon, following Babylon's last single "Alone," released last February 4. In a previous statement, the two collaborators shared that while they were working on the track, they decided to give the song as a gift to Soyou - who has been tagged by fans and media outlets alike as K-Pop's Collab Queen - especially because they thought it fits her.

An Interview With Soyou About "Good Night, My Love"

When asked about how she feels releasing a new song after eight months, Soyou was barely able to contain her excitement, adding that the break "feels longer than eight months." She adds that her new single "was released in the hopes that it would offer a little healing for many people."

Regarding Lee Hyori and Babylon gifting the Collab Queen with a new single, Soyou recalls how Hyori first recorded the song and contacted her, asking her to sing it in the middle of this challenging period. A little later, Babylon also invited her to perform the track, to which she thankfully accepted.

Next, the interviewer asked her about what she wants "Good Night, My Love" to be for the people. Soyou admits that she actually wants to hear from people around her, adding that if she herself experiences a hard time, she wants a good listener in the same way she herself strives to be a good listener too.

About Lee Hyori and Babylon

Lee Hyo-ri began her career in the Korean entertainment industry as a trainee for SM Entertainment, later debuting as the leader of girl group Fin.K.L back in 1998. A little after the four-piece group released its fourth album "Forever," Hyori released her first solo album, "Stylish," in August 2003. In the same year, Lee Hyori established herself as a hitmaker, earning nominations and almost winning all major awards in that year - KBS Music Awards, KMTV Music Awards, MBC Music Awards and more - with her overwhelming popularity being termed by local media outlets the "Hyori Syndrome."

On the other hand, Babylon (real name Lee Jong-min), is a rapper, dancer, and singer-songwriter who first debuted as a member of the five-piece group N-Train back in 2011. Going under the name J Soul, he performed with the soul/ R&B oriented group until it was dissolved in 2013. Two years later, in 2015, Babylon released his solo debut single "Pray," with his first solo studio album, "Caelo," released last 2018.
