Soyou Works with Lee Hyori, Babylon for Her Upcoming Comeback

South Korean singer Soyou will be making her comeback this March with support from Lee Hyori and Babylon onboard the project.

According to a March 3 statement from Starship Entertainment, Soyou's talent management agency, Soyou will be making her comeback with a track composed by singer-songwriter and rapper Babylon and the lyrics written by Lee Hyori herself.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting every update ever since Soyou made a surprise announcement on her Instagram account, March 2. In her IG post, Soyou posted a simple image of what appears like a night sky with the words "Soyou/ Coming Soon/ 2021.03.11. 6 PM."

The comeback features a team of industry veterans in the Korean music industry. Lee Hyori, who serves as the lyricist for the track, first debuted as a member of South Korean pop group Fin. K. L. in 1998 and began her solo career in August 2003. On the other hand, Babylon - whose real name is Lee Jong Min - first debuted as a member of the five-piece group N-Train from 2011 to 2013, making his solo debut in 2015.

About Soyou

Born Kang Ji Hyun, Soyou first made her debut as a member of the Starship Entertainment girl group Sistar - together with Hyolyn, Bora, and Dasom - in June 2010. They broke through local charts with their hit song "So Cool."

Aside from her activities with SIstar, Soyou also made several collaborations with other K-Pop artists such as J2's Kan Jongwoo for the drama "Gloria" and the American remake for "Officially Missing You, Too," which she did with the hip-hop duo Geeks.

In May 2017, however, Sistar released its last single "Lonely" and soon disbanded after seven years of working together. Soyou remained with Starship Entertainment, launching her solo career with collaboration projects with K. Will and Louie from Geeks before releasing her solo album, "RE: BORN," in December 2017. It was followed by her second album, "RE: FRESH," released in October 2018.
