Netizens Call for Cancellation of 'Snowdrop' Starring BLACKPINK Jisoo + Over 120,000 People Already Signed Petition

Amid the excitement of BLACKPINK Jisoo's fans for her first female lead drama, "Snowdrop," K-Netz is pushing the cancellation of the drama through a petition.

As of the writing on March 29, over 120,800 people already signed the Blue House petition that netizens started as a call for JTBC's "Snowdrop" cancellation.

This is an aftermath of the backlash that the drama and casts faced previously due to an alleged history distortion both on its plot and characters.

Despite the initial explanation of JTBC, which clarified the circulating snippets of the drama "Snowdrop," K-Netz expressed still expressed their firm stance to cancel the drama.

In particular, the Broadcasting Channel denied the allegations of history distortion and explained that it is only a "Black Comedy." Along with this, they asked netizens to refrain from criticisms even before the drama's broadcast.

 But this made the situation worse, as a netizen then opened a Blue House petition, asking the drama to be canceled to avoid disparaging the pro-democratic movement and romanticization of spy.

The petition is currently ongoing and will end on April 25.

On March 27, an anonymous netizen who shared BLACKPINK Jisoo and Jung Hae In's photo fueled the frustrations of the Korean netizens to the casts and drama.

According to the news outlet, Top Star News civilians saw a filming crew around Keimyung University in Daegu, along with a photo of the idol-actress Jisoo and lead actor Jung Hae on a motorcycle scene.

The real-time Daegu Facebook page on the 27th said, "It must have been " Snowdrop," Jung Hae In, and BLACKPINK Jisoo are here. I heard it's a "Sky Castle" production team, so I wonder if it's fun." The photo was posted along with the photo.

Some of the netizens who saw this responded by saying, "Why am I not here now?" "Jung Hae In is so handsome," and "Jisoo is so pretty."

On the other hand, as the drama was recently controversial over concerns over distortion of history, some people showed cold eyes
Several netizens reacted negatively, saying,

"There's no future in this drama," "Don't they know what's going on?" and calling the cast selfish for disregarding opinions.

Apparently, the show is being affected following Koreans earnest desire to protect their history and culture, which sparked following the broadcast of SBS "Joseon Exorcist." The drama was permanently canceled due to history distortion speculations, then and after this, Koreans and netizens are carefully monitoring other K-Dramas.
