TWICE Jihyo and Sejeong Reveal Their Regrets and Sacrifices Before and After Debut

The former Gugudan member also revealed her first experience in a club. Kim Sejeong, along with TWICE Jihyo, shared how they sacrificed their youth days for non-stop training before their debut and rise as K-pop stars.

On March 30, Kim Sejeong, who appeared in tvN's "On & Off," a personal documentary show where celebrities showed their on and off-screen lives, revealed untold stories prior to her debut, drawing attention.

In the broadcast, Sejeong also invited Jihyo, a member of TWICE, to her hometown to play together and talked about what they sacrificed before they became prominent K-pop stars.

In the broadcast, Kim Sejeong, who looked back on her trainee days, received empathy from TWICE Jihyo as she said, "It's a shame that I couldn't play properly because of practice. I played only a few times with children after school," confessing her tough schedules as a young trainee.

"I started training when I was in elementary, but it's like an obligation for me to take vocal and dance lessons...things that I'm not really into it."

However, as the TWICE leader recalled her trainee days, she continued, "But I wish I had given my all enthusiasm to it," weighing her heart from enjoying her youth or chasing her dream.

Meanwhile, Sejeong also conveyed how thankful she is for debuting in her 20s and only training for approximately a year and a half.

Thinking about the things she might not do when she finally become a K-pop idol, Sejeong visited a club with the thought of, "At this age, I thought I would never be able to go to a club if I didn't go to the club right now."

However, she immediately regretted going after not being able to hear things properly. Sejeong narrated how scary that experience is, and she even visualized if what will she do if she can't do music anymore.

She said, "I'm worried about what if I can't sing for the rest of my life because I'm having fun for a while now."

Nevertheless, she went for the second time around in a club, making Jihyo and the MCs laugh. During her second visit, she came prepared and wore earplugs and said, "I thought I should stay here like this. I have never been there since then."

Lastly, Jihyo and Sejeong expressed how thankful they are for what they've reached now.

After parting ways with Gugudan, Sejeong proved her stable and continuous popularity as a solo artist with her second mini-album, "I'M," released on March 29.

Since then, her album containing her own color and sensibility also showed impressive response both from local and international fans, such as topping the iTunes album chart in Latvia, Belgium, Switzerland, and Spain---flaunting her huge influence in Europe.

In addition to this, Sejeong also entered the TOP10 album charts in 15 countries, including Turkey, Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Vietnam.

On the other hand, the album of Sejeong became more special as aside from this is her comeback in about seven months. The female star also poured her effort in taking part to compose and write all of her songs, proving her ability as a singer-songwriter.

Kim Sejeong's second mini-album, "I'm," honestly captures the feelings and thoughts she felt when she looked back on herself after her debut, along with the title track, "Warning" (ft. IIIBOI).
