SM Entertainment Drops Music Video for Red Velvet Wendy's Solo Debut "LIKE WATER"

On Monday, Apr. 5, SM Entertainment released the official music video for Wendy's debut, "Like Water." The music video makes us of water and spring, showing the start of spring. Wendy is seen predominantly alone in an empty house, with lavish furniture. Other times, she is seen in a bathtub with water, in all-white in a blue-toned room, or in what appears to be a birdcage adorned with flowers.

It was on Mar. 24 that SM Entertainment released a statement, announcing that Red Velvet member Wendy would be making her solo debut on Apr. 5 with the solo album, "LIKE WATER." The label then revealed that her album would consist of a total of five songs that each contain's Wendy's sincere messages and heartfelt emotions.

"LIKE WATER" started accepting pre-orders on major online and offline music stores on Mar. 24.

Prior to SM Entertainment's official announcement, the South Korean news outlet Star News released a report on Mar. 10 stating that Wendy would be making her solo debut. SM Entertainment quickly released a statement on the matter, saying, "Red Velvet's Wendy is currently working in the hopes of releasing her album in April. Please look forward to her album."

Expectations were high for Wendy, who has shown off her ethereal vocal skills through both group and solo activities. Wendy has collaborated with numerous domestic and international artists, such as Eric Nam and John Legend.

The Red Velvet member has also released OSTs for several dramas. Additionally, Wendy has also performed on numerous variety shows, flaunting her goddess-like voice. The idol has also pursued a career as a voice actress.

SM Entertainment Reveals Wendy's Solo Debut Album Will Have Two Title Track

On Mar. 25, SM Entertainment spoiled fans once more by revealing that "LIKE WATER" will contain two title tracks. According to the company, the two title tracks will be "Like Water" and "When This Rain Stops." Both tracks are expected to captivate fans thanks to Wendy's incredible and emotional voice.

"When The Rain Stops" is described as a slow-tempo ballad that utilizes heavy piano to match with Wendy's warm vocals. Lyrically, the song tells the listener that everything is okay and that it is alright to take a break when you are tired of life.
